When you're not paying a QB big money you can afford to pay a guy like Von $19M per year.

With the way QB contracts are nowadays I'd much rather pay Von QB money than guys like Tannehill, Flacco, Brock, Cousins, and Alex Smith.

It's crazy money either way... I'll sit back and see what happens, they'll either get it done or call his bluff on sitting out. I can't control it and won't get wrapped up in it. If he signs, fantastic! If he doesn't, well, we'll see how fast the shit hits the fan.

The first 10 drives, only one had more than 3 plays. Broncos' defense received no help and no love from the offense that day. KC's defense throttled Manning, ushering in Houston's new QB.

I don't think forcing turnovers will be that hard with Sanchez at the helm.

Though if Houston is out it may be...

Paying Miller is the right thing to do. But is it the smart thing to do?

Does Von Miller deserve to be the highest-paid defensive player in the NFL?

Absolutely. Without a doubt. He has earned every penny. Without him, there’s no way the Broncos would have upset Cam Newton and Carolina to win Super Bowl 50.

But can Miller actually be worth nearly $20 million per season to the Broncos?

No way. No how. In the NFL, spending all that cash on anything except a quarterback is unlikely to provide a good return on investment.

And those two competing pieces of logic are my best explanation why it has taken forever for the Broncos to cut a deal with their 27-year-old linebacker.

Paying Miller is a math problem. It’s a problem that Denver has taken way too long to figure out, maybe because the numbers don’t compute.
We know where Von Miller is. But what is he going to do?

Somewhere between tugging on Superman’s cape at the Super Bowl and turning into an Elvis imitator on “Dancing with the Stars,” Miller grew larger than life and bigger than the team.

That’s a problem for the Broncos. And it’s a problem that has revealed the cracks in a championship organization. This is not meant as criticism of either franchise president Joe Ellis or general manager John Elway, who have done great work... (cont'd.)

:-)..Eltwat's first year without Manning-boy to deflect his mediocrity is going smoothly. Even the local papers are calling him out and saying what I have been posting...its been a total cluster**** of an off-season. They were nice enough not to pile-on and bring up how he handled the CJ situation...

If they sign him, they are ****ed and if he sits they are ****ed....I'm hoping they sign him and he rapes their cap. You can get 3 good players for what he costs. He wants $70 million guaranteed...

If that's the case...he obviously doesn't want to play there.

Holy shit, NFL.com just said they DID up the offer to $70 million....raped. Miller just fleeced Elway...

This move just cemented Denver's decline...Sanders will roll next off-season.

They would have better been off letting Miller walk and reshaping their roster while Lynch is being prepped...now they have a $100 million OLB, no QB, and veterans who are going to hold out.

Your lord and master, Horseface, royally ****ed that team up...

The Broncos don't have to pay a franchise QB so they have the money now and for the next few years (as Lynch progresses).

I'm told the #Broncos and Von Miller have agreed to terms on a six-year contract. Awesome outcome for the reigning Super Bowl MVP.
