WalRuss definitely isn't washed. He has a stellar 10-20 record over the last two years.
What more could you expect when a QB in his prime joins a top 5 roster? And nevermind the fact that his former team was carried to the playoffs by his former backup. That was pure luck. :-) [Reply]

Knowshit will think that it's because Wilson is a good quarterback and Payton is a good coach. But in reality, the Donks might be the best of 3 bad teams chasing the Chiefs but never catching them.
Herbert is severely overrated but he is considerably better than Russ is. [Reply]
Everything I'm hearing is the only reason Paydaton took the Denver job is because of how overpaid he is now. No other tram was desperate enough to mortgage the ridiculous draft compensation as well...uh oh [Reply]

I dont see that at all. Thry might get to 3rd place, but even thats a reach because the Raiders own them too. If LV gets Rodgers, the Donx will finish last, as usual. [Reply]
Give Russel 1 year. That’s it. Major improvement or he’s off the team completely next offseason.
I’d eat the 1 year hit by trading him for literally anything or outright cutting him and taking the whole cap hit at once if I can’t get even a 7th rounder for him. Take the bandaid off.
Then, you’re in place the following year to have a #1 overall pick and you can replace the GM and be able to attract a good GM that Payton can work with that will have a lot of cap space and a ton of valuable draft picks to work with.
It’s a painful 2 years, but it’s the only way to have a chance to compete in 3-5 years. [Reply]
Terry Bradshaw’s advice to Russell Wilson: “Listen to Sean Payton. He had a guy your size that was smart and ran that offense. And if you’ll study this offense under Payton, he’ll take you to that level you want to be at.“ pic.twitter.com/Iplk8XhbVD

They are stuck with russel for a long time. Cutting him would destroy their cap.

This^
I've seen his contract dissected seven ways to Sunday and no one has come up with a realistic way to cut him for 3 years.
Perna had some crazy idea that basically called for cutting or trading off half the team to absorb the cap hit, but dropped it quickly.
They're screwed unless Payton can pull a rabbit out of his ass and turn Russack into a game manager [Reply]
