Sean Payton has NEVER won fewer than 7 games in a season as a HC. When his teams did finish with a losing record, it was not due to his side of the ball:

2007 Saints: 7-9
Offensive PPG rank: 12th
Offensive YPG rank: 4th
Defensive PPG rank: 25th
Defensive YPG rank: 26th

2012 Saints: 7-9 Bountygate
Offensive PPG rank: 3rd
Offensive YPG rank: 2nd
Defensive PPG rank: 31st
Defensive YPG rank: 32nd

2014 Saints: 7-9
Offensive PPG rank: 9th
Offensive YPG rank: 1st
Defensive PPG rank: 28th
Defensive YPG rank: 31st

2015 Saints: 7-9
Offensive PPG rank: 8th
Offensive YPG rank: 2nd
Defensive PPG rank: 32nd
Defensive YPG rank: 31st

2016 Saints: 7-9
Offensive PPG rank: 2nd
Offensive YPG rank: 1st
Defensive PPG rank: 31st
Defensive YPG rank: 27th

No wonder he wanted to go to a dominant defensive team like Denver.

Sean Payton won ONE SB with what, 15 years of Drew Brees?

2023 Russell Wilson is no Drew Brees.

And then Payton bolted when he knew the team was ****ed with the cap rather than deal with the mess he'd made.

Y'all have fun with that. And you gave up ANOTHER high first round pick for the rights. What the hell are you going to stock your team with?

8-9, coming right up!

Denver will have a bottom half of the league defense next year anyway so good job I guess.

I'd also guess they end up trading Sutton this offseason.

Correction. He wanted the Chargers or Rams. Has no qualms with taking 20 million annually from a sucker though.

The Denver Chargers. They win the Super Bowl every offseason!

Drew Brees ain't walking through the door with him. WalRuss' deep ball and scrambling abilities are gone and he refuses to use the middle of the field. Sounds like it's going to be a lot of hand-offs and3 yard dump-offs. That's not winning shit against Mahomes, Herbert, Burrow, Allen etc.

I mean he got the Ain'ts a Super Bowl win against the juggernaut that was Peyton Manning and the Colts. The fucking Ain'ts. To put that in perspective, at the time, the Ain'ts were a more pathetic franchise than the oughts Chiefs, which is saying something.

I mean, the bounty hunting program that eventually got him thrown out of the league for an entire year was a massive factor in that championship.

1 Superbowl..lol...you should drop that one. Come up with something else. Payton is going to be more impactful than any handful of draft picks pick and you know it. Which is basically two second round picks. One of those picks we didn't even have 3 months ago. He's a draw coach, people want to work with him. This is a good thing.

Uh, might want to remove 2012, just a thought. :-)

They still won on the field, and I scoff at the indignant nature of it in a league that hid it's own concussion findings from the players. Either way, it's in the past.

It's a good hire. It's who I would have probably wanted if I were a Bronco fan.

Until/unless he gets a QB it won't matter. We saw what he did with and without Brees.

Yes. Very far in the past. And he's been a laughable underachiever since.
