Sean Payton’s first NFL job was in Philly as QB coach with John Gruden as our OC. He was a great hire for us and will be a great hire for Denver. Very happy for him. The Eagles tree has a lot of great branches.

He's a hero in Houston. Before he was even a candidate for any head coaching job he was already in the process of building an offseason home in Houston. His wife and her family are all from there. It would've been hard to get him to turn all of that down.
