It would have never happened if the Chiefs had scored a TD just as it never happened when the Chiefs failed to gain the 1st down. It wasn't a "do-over," it was a "get things right to start with and then run the actual play."

Read the thread. Add I wrote before, it has happened in the part where a ref tries but fails to stop a play, and they have allowed the offensive yards gained to stand. If the Chiefs got the 1st, there is a very good chance they let it stand. The Chiefs really did get an extra play, and when they still failed to get the first, the refs gave it to them via penalty.

The Bengals had every chance to win. They’d didn’t bc their last 2 drives, with the game tied:

-Burrow threw an interception
-Chris Jones got a sack on 3rd down

Then they gave up a 29 yard punt return. THEN they hit Mahomes well out of bounds in which everyone I’ve seen universally agreed it was a penalty.

They had plenty of chances. Then ****ed them up. We didn’t.
