I am thinking that Payton saw how Russ manipulated the media and the hype. He is trying to emulate the best scammer in the history of the NFL.
I don't blame him, actually rooting for his retirement golden goose. Everyone wants that shiny new car.

Even Russ decent game against the Chiefs was more on KC screwing up than anything. With the games on the line he wilted.

I’ve always believed that statement. I often wonder how the fool and their money for together to begin with. I’m starting to form the opinion they “inherited it”.

Never thought about that. You are probably right. A person that makes/earns his money is usually careful with it.
The exception would be god-like money, see Bezos, so what is 2-300 mil.

Two things….
1. “If they can pry him away from Denver…” (
:-) )
2. After looking into Tepper, there is no way Payton would choose Tepper over the Broncos’ ownership group.

Classic cash grab by a coach who knows he'll never win his own division, much less a SB.
He would inherit the league's lowest-scoring offense, in a division with the highest-scoring offense. Meanwhile, his supposedly good defense allowed only 10 pts fewer than KC, and he'll have no top picks to build the team with, while KC continues to stockpile picks.
Sling that Wal-Mart cash, Pay a Ton!

If Payton takes that job it's a cash grab nothing more.

Carolina has much more to offer than Denver does in draft compensation. If Payton fucks arounds and let's it slip he's discussed an offer with Denver in an attempt to steer Loomis that direction New Orleans will easily win a tampering case against them.

You realize Denver is a laughing stock right? And that includes that ownership group

Yup he’s trying to play the 2 wealthiest owners against each other to get more money.
Sounds like Denver is currently offering more

What will be funnier is when Wal Mart shells out $20 million a year for him and then watches as he doesn’t get “Great Value” from him.

Listening to Sirius radio on this and they are saying that Payton will probably not command two 1st rd picks.
It’s probably gonna be a 1st and 2nd
