In a year a severely flawed 9-8 Dolphin team that lost their QB for half a year and still made it in. Denver still didn't come close to sniffing the playoffs in a year they lost no players that really impacted their record.
Stop and think about that for a second. Shows you just how far off they are....with no draft capitol. [Reply]
Harbaugh will be HC, Shaw will be his OC, they’ll probably keep the same DC and ST’s in Ejiro and Rosburg. Not a bad staff but they have a huge uphill climb.
I would not at all be surprised if Harbaugh does what he did in SF by drafting a young QB to take over for Russ like he did with Alex. [Reply]

Pffff. Denver went 5-12 without a Quarterback for most of the year. [Reply]

Stop making Hackett the fall guy. Number 1 your GM that's still employed hired him. Number 2, coaching doesn't cause your overpaid QB to miss WIDE OPEN receivers that cost your team 3 to 4 games because he's washed up. That isn't changing next year either. He'll still cost you games no matter the coach. [Reply]

I know nothing about Shaw, but this all sounds fantastic to me. [Reply]

Right now, they do have a R1 pick in 2023... they have no R2. And, in 2024, they're back to normal aside from the loss of a R4 pick.
When you have EmbaRuss locked down for the next 4 years… that’s almost impossible. If he was playing at an elite level, and earning the eye popping number you guys have to pay him that would be one thing. BUT…. He’s playing at a well below average level, but getting paid like he’s Mahomes. Paid a Ton hasn’t shown the ability to fill in the roster with players while paying top dollar for a quarterback. Should be fun to watch from a KC perspective, probably not so much from a Dungver perspective! [Reply]
We were the first team to meet with another Peyton a few years ago. Ironically, Peyton left to interview with Arizona afterwards too.
Denver is scheduled to be the first team this month to have an in-person head-coach interview with Sean Payton, per source. The Broncos and Payton are scheduled to meet Tuesday morning in Los Angeles.
