Nzoner's Game Room>***The Official MMA Thread***

Excited about an upcoming fight? Want to make predictions, or just give people a heads-up that there are some fights on? We can do it here.

(Also a good place to complain, dicuss, and agrue about the outcomes)

Things get real interesting if Tate wins. We'd basically have a paper/rock/scissors situation where they each have a good matchup and a terrible matchup in that triangle.

Whether she has the belt or not, Holm/Rousey II will do big numbers. Rousey/Tate (with the belt) III will also do numbers.

If McGregor loses, you can still turn around and do McGregor/Edgar at UFC 200.

Can't really lose.

Yep, there's very little downside here which is why it seemed insane to me that they might make Holm wait. If she fights Tate and loses, that division really comes to life. Conor can't really lose here, if he loses he still has the featherweight title, and people still want to see him defend that belt. If he wins, holds two belts, and defends them 4 times a year, holy crap would he become rich.

Dana's newest episode of "Lookin' for a fight" is out. Its not a high-quality show, but its amusing.

How many PPV buys would this get in a cage?

I think Conor is a bit of a fool to fight Dos Anjos. Unless he just can't cut the weight anymore, stay at 145. He has it made there.

He obviously can cut the weight but its apparently very hard for him to do. I don't see any reason why he couldn't fight at lightweight. He's the same size as the top guys and he actually has a 3 inch reach advantage on Dos Anjos. I still don't think I see him beating Dos Anjos, though.

I bet Dana crapped himself when he saw that picture of Conor with the airsoft gun and heard that the Irish police wanted to talk to him. Ireland has some of the strictest gun laws in the world, you can get in quite a bit of trouble for even pellet guns.

It is an extremely difficult cut for him, his coach actually wants him to vacate his featherweight title and just stay at 155. He looks like walking death at weigh-ins.

He can't really lose though, if he loses to RDA, oh well he's still the 145 champ, and if he wins, my God would he be rich.

If he does beat Dos Anjos, I want to see Khabib get the first crack at him. Want to see what a wrestler in a full camp can do against him.

Even though the cat is not just out of the bag, but up a tree and yowling to the whole neighborhood, the UFC still plans to hold off on announcing UFC 197 until the Washington/Green Bay game tomorrow on Fox

Well, I think we now know why Royce Gracie (age 49) is coming out of retirement to fight on Bellator. He's in big trouble with the IRS. The IRS wants about $1.15MM in unpaid taxes, late penalties, and penalties for tax fraud.

The Nevada State Athletic Commission has approved a settlement with Nick Diaz. 18 months, $100K fine. Diaz will have to provide 3 clean tests before fighting in Nevada again. He also agreed that he incorrectly pled the 5th amendment which is probably not true, but whatever, its just words.

So, Nick Diaz will be eligible to fight again in August.

#2-ranked Middleweight contender Yoel Romero failed an out of competition test, so I guess he won't be getting the title shot against Rockhold. At his age (38), he is probably done now. We're no longer under the old rules, the new USADA punishments are in full effect. He'll probably be suspended until his 40's.
