Nzoner's Game Room>Andy Reid called me, and he asked CP to fix the offense.
Direckshun 07:39 AM 09-23-2024
I think we can all agree the offense has not been up to par this season.

At this point, there's only so much we can do about it. Our best WR got injured and is missing the season, our best RB is out until December, our LT situation is messy and our stud TE is looking his age.

So, is this who we are now? Is 30 points a game a distant memory?

What can be done?

(Andy Reid is lurking in this thread, so make sure you're on your best behavior.)

Will be interesting to see if Kareem Hunt can help in the passing game, including as a blocker against the pass rushers.

No excuses why a Bills team with DOGSHIT at WR can put up points against these "schemes". They basically have 4 number 3 slot guys. Mack Hollins, Shitkur, Coleman and Janitor version Samuel. Seriously??

Cook is overrated dur to the threat of Allen running and those TEs are mid as fuck

I think we underestimated the bills offensive weapons. Shakir has taken a big step forward. He’s better than anyone we have outside of Rice. Cook is a home run threat at RB which is something we don’t have. Their offensive line has played great - they don’t have concerns at the LT spot like we have. The main reason why they’ve been so good is that Josh Allen has played out of his mind. That being said the Jags defensive strategy against the bills was awful. Everyone knows JA loves picking up third downs with his legs and they let him do that consistently every time. That team looked completely unprepared.

Their QB is playing well and they've played bad defenses.

Sacrificing his future running like an idiot though

Cook is really good. I think you're off on that one.

They've got good young weapons. Guys get open.

The bigger thing is that Allen is....fuck he's really good. Playing well.

Allen has new WRs and no turnovers. A bit too good to be true, I'd reckon

Another reason for our offensive "issues" is that some fans had it in their head that we were gonna be this unstoppable force ala 2018.

That team had 2 HOF'ers in the peak of their powers and Mahomes was just letting it rip.

Ww don't know that. Running QBs open up running lanes and thise wideouts are a joke.

Patrick hits those two throws, and we're not even having this conversation.
There's also something to be said for Reid calling tendency breakers in early season games.

Some of this stuff is just Reid doing goofy shit early on to A) see if it works and B) put it on tape for other teams to have to keep in the back of their minds.

If we can keep doing goofy shit and win, sooner or later that goofy shit will pay dividends when other teams are trying to figure out if they need to pay attention to it down the road and end up burning practice reps and/or brainpower trying to account for it.

Here ya go fellas. LT is a problem

Part of why the Chiefs are such a low ADOT offense right now is Mahomes doesn’t feel comfortable with his left tackle spot. His pressure-to-sack percentage is 14.8 after an average of 11 the past two seasons. His time to throw is about half a second faster than 2022-23.

I think he just hates Nagy tbh, and any involvement he has in the offense is a net negative. He might be right tbh, but as far as our struggles right now, Nagy might be responsible for 5% of it, not 80% or 100%

Yeah if Patrick hits that TD instead of getting picked in the end zone vs ATL, and Butker doesn't miss the XP, we're talking about a 30 point game against a good Falcons defense, that we KNEW was going to give us a hard time.

Yep. Left tackle is probably the second or third most important position on offense and we’re below average there. Of course it will have an impact.
