Nzoner's Game Room>Chiefs trade Tyreek Hill to the Dolphins
Dante84 10:34 AM 03-23-2022
Will update OP with more info.

Here it is: The #Chiefs are trading six-time Pro Bowl WR Tyreek Hill to the #Dolphins, sources tell me and @TomPelissero.

The return is a first-round pick and more, while Hill gets a contract extension that puts him among the highest paid WRs in the NFL.

Chiefs are trading six-time Pro-Bowl WR Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins for five draft picks: a 2022 1st-round pick (No. 29), a 2nd-round pick (No. 50) and a 4th-round pick, as well as 4th- and 6th-round picks in the 2023 draft, sources tell ESPN.

I'm sure Veach has a plan that involves moves we haven't even thought about yet. This opens up so much going forward.

That said, this is really disappointing. All of our competitors took a step forward for this next season and we're almost certainly taking a step backwards. It's a tough pill to swallow even if it's necessary for longer-term sustainability.

Just not sure how anyone can really feel good about today.

When they were released they were broke dicks... no longer "cornerstones on the offense".

You are seriously comparing Tyreek Hill to the decrepit statuses of Fisher/Schwartz when they were released?

JFC :-)

The Chiefs ran the numbers and came to this conclusion. This has clearly been in the works for a while judging by the set trades they had with the Jets and Dolphins.

Now to see what the Chiefs' plan is to address the WR position because they also surely have that as well.

And then what? His average cap hit per year is $30 million. First year cap hit would probably be something like $17 million but then what?

His cap hits in 2023 and 2024 will be around $35 million.

So your QB and WR alone take up about $75 million in 2023. That’s 35% of your cap On two players.

Even if Patrick restructures that’s probably still 25% of your money on only 2 players.

You realize how insane that is right?

Teams were taking away the deep ball and pretty much hampering Tyreek's biggest weapon which is his speed. This move allows Reid and Pat to rebuild the offense and perhaps rely on new things like RUNNING THE BALL MORE? Hill was great and he will go down as a legendary wideout for this organisation..but it's time to move forward now. OBJ is out there if he'd be interested in a modest deal. All in all we've got cap space and loads picks so let's fecking go.

I know it’ll get spun into me being a homer, but I’m excited, because I’m a draftubator nut.

I fully accept that the Chiefs might be worse off his year, but it’s not about 1 year.

This is the start of Veach’s new 3-5 year plan. I’m honestly excited for it.

No, you're a fucking retard. As usual.

Every year the same fucktards (see: you) panic when players x, y or z get moved. They figure out ways to replace them and are still in the mix.

It'll happen again. Keep fucking that chicken with make believe comparisons though :-)

Yep. I was expecting a step back even with Hill on this offense.
