He's not wrong though. It's why I've stated multiple times I have no clue what the obsession over Payton is. He had his own developed franchise QB for over a DECADE, AFTER that 2009 Championship where his DC was knocking out opposing QBs with a bounty scheme, and won 5 playoff games. Total. For how stacked that roster was with a legit franchise QB that's borderline criminal waste of talent.

Yes! I am amazed how some think he is Lombardi. He should have won far more than he did in the playoffs with the talent that surrounded him. Plus he had an elite HOF bound franchise QB in his prime and has very little to show for it.

The biggest problem with Russ is he isn’t as mobile anymore. I think that is a major reason for his decline. Not sure why bc he’s only 34 but he is a lot like Mahomes in that he was most dangerous outside of the pocket.

The Broncos OL is really really bad and their WR’s are nowher near Metcalf/Lockett quality.

There’s just so much for Denver to have to fix on offense to help him and that’s gonna be hard with his contract numbers jumping up after only one more year.
