Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy! [Reply]

So in 2020 they can finally see if Mahomes is ready in the second to last year of his contract, and if he is they get one year of play out of the guy at a relatively cheap cap number before they have to hand over a Derek Carr-esque deal to keep him from signing with another team?
Really? That's the plan?
Sure! That's the "plan" of a fully delusional moron with no grasp on reality.

The only way they keep Alex around is to backup Mahomes next year and finish his contact. Patrick will smoke Alex if they have open competition next year for starting quarterback. [Reply]
Mahomes is already far ahead of where people thought he'd be as far as learning the playbook. He's been the best 2 minute QB and has looked good in camp so far.
This time next year he should be ready to play. The absolute worst case scenario Incan see for Mahomes is Alex taking us to the AFCCG, then taking a paycut and playing to midseason in 2018. [Reply]

The Chiefs won't want another fan revolt and fans are really sick of Alex Smith mediocrity and dump offs and holding this team back. He would be booed out of the stadium if he is forced down our throats another year. [Reply]

I agree. I think he would as well with Mahomes in the house. This will be Smiths final chance. [Reply]
Some of these morons say this shit about Mahomes because they have no fucking clue how to label him or what to do with him.
It's the same with the draft prognosticators. For every Mike Mayock and Jon Gruden out there who was in Mahomes' corner from Day One, you had a Mel Kiper and a Todd McShay who said, "Takes a lot of chances and has a big arm? Meh. He's Jay Cutler at best."
The real truth is that nobody knows what they're dealing with. Mahomes is such a special prospect with such a unique talent set and high ceiling that there IS no QB comparison they can make. Past history is just simply not going to give you much information or data on how you can predict Mahomes' career will go.
The people claiming it will be 2+ years for Mahomes on the bench are likely saying that because they have no clue what to do with him. [Reply]
