Did they actually announce 18k no shows? I was at the Chiefs game, and they announced it as only like 2k no shows, but it looked like it was easily 10x that. I was very confused.

Gotcha, I wonder what the source is. I found the Denver Post article that mentions the 18k number, but they don't provide a source. Meanwhile, Pro Football Reference shows about 76k per game all season, which is right in line with last year.

I don't doubt the 18k at all, but I'm curious why there's such a huge discrepancy.

As I spend way more time on this than it deserves, I think PFR lists tickets sold, not actual butts in seats. And I can't really seem to find the latter anywhere. :-)

The first round of bids to purchase the Washington Commanders from Dan Snyder are due tomorrow. Per @MikeOzanian of Forbes, Snyder has received bids “well north” of $7 billion.

The #Broncos sold for a record $4.6B. Washington will go for way more — assuming Snyder sells it all.

They believed that Snyder had set his reported asking price so high, $7 billion, that he could later stand down and refuse to sell, saying he’d not gotten the price he wanted. That would then force a vote by NFL team owners to make him sell the team.

That theory got shot down after a report Thursday by Forbes.com that Snyder has received offers “well north” of $7 billion for the team. The report did not specify which parties had made offers. Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is presumably one of the interested bidders, as he’s been viewed as the favorite to buy the team, possibly in a partnership with rapper Jay Z, among others.
