#Chiefs CB Jaylen Watson, one of their emerging young players on defense, suffered a fractured ankle in Sunday’s win over the #49ers, sources say.
He’ll have more imaging done today to determine if a return this season is possible. But tough reality for an up-and-coming corner. pic.twitter.com/86J6M58zqm
Breaking: The #Chiefs are designating CB Jaylen Watson to return from IR, and he will practice today, sources tell @NFLonFOX. This is a huge boost for Kansas City, who has been without Watson since late October due to a broken fibula.
Guys, UChieffy is right. Tom Brady still had a good handful of seasons where he didn’t make the AFCC. Mahomes can’t possibly make it there every year of his career.
Wait, can he? I mean, I’ve never seen him NOT do it. Evidence would seem to point to him doing it. We’re not taking a small sample size here. We’ve got six freakin seasons of data here, and that seems to be the trending conclusion.
If the Chiefs lose Saturday, it will be the most disappointing piss of an effort in the Reid/Mahomes era. It’s not happening.
Belief in the KC Chief!
Yeah, and we can talk all day about 3peat and 4peat and 10peat while we know it all starts Saturday and nothing in sports is guaranteed.... BUT, Mahomes' record is known in the Divisional round, he beats teams in the playoffs by 11 points more on average if their QB isn't Brady, Allen, or Burrow, they looked great the last couple games this season, the Texans have looked awful, it's a dome team traveling to Arrowhead.... if you aren't confident, not sure what to tell you.
And if you get so hyped up that you'll have a meltdown if they're not up 21-0 after the first quarter, that's also on you.
After the Bucs SB, I don't take any games for granted, but yeah a loss this weekend would be pretty fucking surprising. [Reply]

I agree. The Texans have issues with injuries on the offense which will hurt them in this game. Could the Texans win? Sure. But my money is on KC.
This is the time that Mahomes/Reid/Spags and the rest of the offense and defense tend to step up. Plus they have plenty of time to prepare for this game.
I don’t see the Texans beating KC as much as KC would have to lose the game, similar to the Chargers last week. [Reply]

This team is just built so different. Every player on this roster wants to be the field at all costs. It's just amazing to witness.
Yes. The harder you go after recovery the quicker you heal. [Reply]

I believe in this team strongly but let's not act like we didn't watch Denver and Vegas come into Arrowhead and be within an inch of an upset. Anything can happen is all I'm saying and the Texans have some studs over there. [Reply]

Yeah.
This was a pretty doable recovery. What was weird was the presumption that he was done for the season when there was still 12+ weeks left in the year.
Good on him for putting the work in, but a professional athlete in his mid-20s should've been able to make it back by the postseason. [Reply]

He'd actually be pretty damn useful to have against Collins out wide.
McDuffie can hammer him in the slot, but out wide and deeper down the field, he can use his size to make life difficult for Trent. But I think he'd really struggle with Watson.
And if you take Collins out of the game, Houston will struggle to put up 13. [Reply]

This is the playoffs. They aren't playing those Chiefs. [Reply]

The Chiefs had Kingsley Suamatia getting Mahomes destroyed half the game, Hopkins had just been traded for, no Rice/Hollywood/Pacheco, Hunt was starting to feel run down from usage, Mahomes uncharacteristically missed a bunch of easy throws and McDuffie had the only bad game of his career that I can recall.
That was the easiest layup for Denver and they STILL blew it [Reply]
