Good for them, Dayton deserved that a hell of a lot more. They came to play in the 2nd half and KU just wilted under the pressure. Didn't defend at all, didn't rebound. Same old stuff with this group.
Should easily end up being KU's worst loss of the season. [Reply]

There were some errors, but the real issue was that KU's main guys just got outplayed. Self can't get this particular group to play as hard as they need to. It just doesn't seem to be in them. [Reply]

I'm more worried about the rebounding myself. They got outrebounded by 11 by Dayton. Those extra possessions were the difference.
It's not good when Christian Braun is your team's best player on the glass (McCormack had 1 defensive rebound). [Reply]

McCormack needs to hurry the fuck up and graduate. [Reply]
Another problem for this team is going to be that Remy Martin is completely useless defensively. Opposing teams have and will continue to target him when they need a basket (it's why Self pulled him out of the game for the last possession, which the team defended quite well). When he gets beat repeatedly off the dribble, we need a big who is able to help at the rim. McCormack is passable at that, but his feet and his reactions aren't where they need to be to cover up that issue.
Also, if Martin is going to play big minutes (which he still should), we need to be taking advantage of his offensive ability particularly in end of game isolation situations. So basically the opposite of passing the ball to McCormack on the block and hoping he makes the right decision. [Reply]
