BL, I really enjoyed Llewyn Davis as well. It was like a mix of Barton Fink, O brother and Serious Man all rolled into one. What was your interpretation of the ending, that had my head crankin for a while [Reply]

Spoiler!
At the start of the movie you think he has a regular gig, gets attacked for no reason, and wakes up in that bed sometime later. At the end you see that He had a gig and got beat up, and you're thinking is this some eternal circle? Only this time Bob Dylan came in to tell him it's all over for him [symbolically and based on what we know in real life about how Dylan took over the scene Llewyn wanted and blew it up], the guy beat him up for heckling his wife, end of story. He's beat down. End of story, no loop. Him waking up 'after' in the beginning of the movie was actually a flashback to the true start of the story of his demise.

Themistocles was pretty badass in their stead, though.

.. And that sex scene? Shit, man. Your boy almost had to hit up xvideos after seeing that.
It was kinda fun. I didn't think it was as good of a story as the first though. The amount of blood and splatter was almost comical though. That and the whole "Woman leading an army in the Middle Ages" thing...

But your spoiler... heh.. yeah.......
Yeah, the gushing, spurting blood splatter was definitely comical, as was the use of slow-mo at times.
Spoiler!
And yeah, the whole woman thing was definitely pretty 'meh' for me. Not only Artemisia but Queen Gorgo when the Spartans finally showed up as well. Gorgo stood on the front line of the very first ship to encounter the Persians and literally slaughtered like 12 of them within 10 seconds. Pretty realistic!
I guess I shouldn't expect realism from this type of story but come on now. No ****ing way a woman, a QUEEN no less, would be the first to battle. And she didn't even have a ****ing shield. Some Spartan she is..
I did think it was pretty funny when she mentioned something about Themistocles "stroking his cock to the sight of real warriors" or something or other. Reminded me of Batiatus in Spartacus :-) "Great Zeus's cock!" "The Gods have finally seen fit to remove cock from ass!" :-):-) [Reply]
