Yep. And the funny thing is, their entitled fan base believed all of it. They were NEVER just a QB away. Turns out that move set them back even farther. Now they're STUCK with their QB and will resort to trading off what little talent they do have, in order to try and recoup draft picks lost for trading for their quarterback. :-)

And even with all that, you still need at LEAST a non-terrible head coach to get the job done.

Elway is probably still in charge if they go this route, and he probably continues the cycle of hiring and firing incompetent coaches. Either that, or he hires a bad one like Fangio who isn't QUITE bad enough to definitively prove he can't get the job done and is able to last several years as all of that roster build-up slowly decays.
