Alright Planeteers, I've been arguing on message boards with people about this off and on for a couple years now and I want to get CP's input on it. The question is this: Who would win in a fight between Bruce Lee and Mike Tyson in his prime? Let's hear it! [Reply]

And no, it wasn't just the one guy from the one Jason Scott Lee movie, it was an ongoing thing in his life.
Several of the Chinese xtras from Enter The Dragon challenged him on set and failed miserably... you guys doubting the dirty, life or death moves he knew are hilarious... if some true kung-fu master were let loose in the UFC it would be a debacle.
Not to say wrestlers and Jiu-Jitsu guys totally lose their ass, but if they aren't quick enough to get a true kung-fu guy on the ground they're at severe risk for maiming moves in a no rules situation... Bruce would use every dirty trick in the book on Tyson, and win.

you can play all the "what ifs" you want but I say, in an octagon cage match, with nothing but their bare fists/legs/feet and just wearing some shorts (or for you kc fans, jorts) and a cup, I say Tyson will win. Lee may have been a lot faster than Tyson when it comes to moving around and kicking but Tyson was fast enough, I mean, he could move in the ring when he was young and in his prime. Again, even if Lee landed a few quick blows, I think Tyson could withstand them and if Tyson ever landed a body blow or a head blow then Lee would be crippled immediately.
I do think Tyson's 60+lbs weight advantage would make a difference. The only question is, would Lee drop Tyson with one or two blows? In a real world setting, with Tyson fully prepared and with his guard up, I don't know if Lee's punches/kicks would do enough damage to put Tyson on the ground. Where I might see Lee win is if the fight went like 10 rounds or so and Lee just eventually tires Tyson out so much that he wears out in the end. [Reply]
Kareem Abdul Jabbar spoke about how Bruce’s size deficit was too much for Bruce Lee to overcome against him, even though Jabbar accepted Lee as the master martial artist; when they toiled around in the gym, Bruce Lee couldn’t do much to the 7’2 student.
Ok, so Kareem Abdul Jabbar could beat Bruce Lee's ass....

Bruce Lee the Legend can kick anyone's ass. The reality is that the "martial art" he studied was not a practical fighting style but more of an advanced form of coordinated patty-cake.

I've kind of been anticipating his take as well...at the same time though, while I believe he has my dick stomped in the dirt when it comes to football...and probably life....I feel like I can hang with anyone when it comes to MMA...but my wrestling bias is definitely prevalent, BUT LEGIT, 2 LEGIT 2 QUIT, Y'ALL!!!
