Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill was detained by police today entering the stadium for a driving violation, per his agent Drew Rosenhaus. But Rosenhaus said Hill will play today.

consider, it was a world class athlete.

Acting like a douche and rolling your illegally tinted window up puts the officer at risk. If they cannot see your hands or what you are doing in the car, they need to regain control of the situation quickly to ensure their safety.

That being said, these officers definitely need some training in de-escalation techniques. They should have told Tyreek explicitly that either get out of the car or we are going to have to remove you from the car in an aggressive manner to ensure our safety. Give him the opportunity to exit his vehicle and then tell him he is being detained for speeding (not arrested) and that he needs to provide his license, registration, and insurance. If Tyreek would have then continued being a douche and not cooperating, then you put him in cuffs and arrest him for obstruction. The dumb ****s that stopped in the road to get involved are just as stupid as Tyreek. If one of you thinks you need to film, have the driver drop you off and stand on the curb and film. Don't park in the roadway like some entitled jackass.

P.S.--**** Chris Canty. If you haven't seen his angry, race baiting diatribe on Unsportsmanlike this morning, I implore you to watch it. What a ****ing dickhead.
This is the best response to a cop, "What seems to be the problem officer?"

You don't speed in a Lambo. Have your window down, then roll up a fully tinted window when the cops are talking to you. He is trying to use his celeb status get out of this. He knew he was in the wrong when he said just give me my ticket.
Then just kept making it worse from there.

I am officially glad we traded him. He can be someone else's nightmare.

He will probably blame Patrick and Travis for this as well somehow.
It was a Mclaren 720 so he should have been fine................

I think the one thing we can all agree on here is that Veach was once again a genius for trading him away.

I was sad at the time to not root for him on the field, but his penchant for drama is best seen when he's on another team. As we all suspected, moving to a place like Miami was not a good move for a guy like him.

So part of the job description for being a LEO is a legal right to shoot someone being rude?

Yes, I think this explains a lot.
Did I say that? I suspect you gleaning that from what I said explains a lot.

Exactly. What is it they don't understand. JFC

He's not driving a Lambo. His window was down. He handed the officer his ID when asked. They knew who he was before they even had his ID. His window came back down before the officer ripped him out of the vehicle. There is no law requiring people to be nice to police officers and they had no reasonable cause to detain or put him in cuffs.

None of the officers should be on the street and the tattooed officer should never wear a badge again. Take his pension too.

Pretty much all of this.

Your rights don't just disappear because you are an asshole. The officers had the authority to ask him to exit the vehicle. However, they also have to give the person time to comply.

The real reason they were Jerks, as we all know, is that they were Jacksonville fans.

Yeah that cop had an attitude from the get go, and he was driving way more recklessly than Hill was in the first place. He needs to find a new line of work.

yes, I agree, the multi millionaire should have treated the civil servents with more dignity and respect. Rather than the "Do you know who I am???" level of entitlement. Dude got popped on a public highway acting the fool in a car that draws attention to it. He got the wrong kind of attention. Someone needs to teach Reek to buy a Honda to drive to work in when he's late. Probably would have gotten away with a few over the limit.

He likely committed an arrestable traffic offense by speeding through a construction zone. They have every right to pull him forcibly out of the vehicle and arrest him for reckless driving, misdemeanor obstruction, no seat belt, etc. I'd bet anything that the ONLY reason they didn't arrest him on the spot was because of his celebrity status.

I'm glad MPD is standing by their officers. Hill is a POS and I'm glad he's no longer a Chief.
