This is a massive hole that is filled for the #chiefs. Trent McDuffie is considered by almost everyone as the 3rd best CB in this draft. The first two went off the board at 3 and 4.
The @Chiefs make a big move for a top CB (and my model's #8 overall prospect) in Trent McDuffie, who allowed 3.1 yards/target in 2021 at Washington (best in FBS, min. 30 targets).
Could be a key piece to counter the wealth of receiving talent in the AFC come playoff time!
If Trent is out until week seven then it would be crazy to not bring in a vet imo. That's just way too long to risk it. Bootle isn't good enough to elevate onto the roster so I'd be looking at Bouye tbh. [Reply]
According to a report from NFL Network’s James Palmer, #Chiefs rookie CB Trent McDuffie faces a 4-6 week timeline for his hamstring injury. https://t.co/DYVNxdrrx4
I'm told the Chiefs believe there's a real chance rookie CB Trent McDuffie returns Week 6 against the Bills.
McDuffie has been recovering well from a hamstring injury and although he'll need to put together a good week of work, it's possible he plays next weekend [Reply]

Dude, this is the McDuffie thread. Don’t bring your garbage ass TE into this thread. Nobody is scared or cares about the current backup brokedick to the starting brokedick TE you have. [Reply]

If Im the Chiefs Im not sure I bring him back for such a game. Its so easy to get cooked by those guys and then for negative thoughts to creep in and it snowballs. Especially when he will be rusty and not 100%. [Reply]

Negative thoughts can creep in and then snowball with any player.

If he's ready, he's ready.
Trust the process/Reid.
If he can get through a week of practice, let him play.
But when it comes to soft tissue injuries, especially ones like hamstrings on CBs, I tend to lean towards "get him 'healthy' - then wait another week..."
They're just soooooo easy to aggravate. Is the risk of losing him for another 4-6 weeks outweigh the reward of getting him back a week earlier?
I'd need a lot of confidence that he's truly completely past that injury before I put him back out there. [Reply]
