Shady McCoy had a fumbling problem with us in 2019. He was permabenched by midseason.
The Broncos could stand to look to the Chiefs for success once in awhile. Well, regarding things they can actually accomplish, that is. They've been trying to acquire their own deep threat speed guy like Tyreek for years and have never found him. [Reply]

Why would we have Geno? He’s never been a Bronco. You guys act like Geno performing well is an indictment on the Broncos somehow. In reality though, they were only on the same team in 2020 and 2021, when Carroll chose to rush Wilson back from injury rather than have to play Geno any more. [Reply]

If you're going to make a mega-trade, you'd expect the $250 million man to perform better than his backup who's earning 3 mil this year, right? Of course they played the established QB when he was ready vs the journeyman. They'd have done the same even if Geno killed it in his absence.
You guys are trying to downplay it now, but if Wilson doesn't play at a high level, the trade is a big failure. For it to be worth the draft capital + contract, he needs to be the type of QB that elevates the team and masks flaws. Not somebody who needs a loaded roster to compete.
People laughed at Carroll when, during training camp, he said they were fine at QB. And laughed at the idea that Wilson's athleticism had declined, even though plenty of analysts and fans had noted it. Neither of these are hard to imagine now.
Was Paton oblivious to this? Was he blinded like a fan too? Or did he know and acquire him for name brand recognition anyway? [Reply]
