Chiefs WR Marquise “Hollywood” Brown, who suffered a dislocation of his sternoclavicular shoulder joint Saturday night, was discharged from a Jacksonville-area hospital this morning and now has been cleared to return to Kansas City.
#Chiefs WR Marquise “Hollywood” Brown is expected to miss four to six weeks with the sternoclavicular injury he suffered, per multiple sources. Opening night is three weeks from this Thursday night.
Sources: The #Chiefs are placing WR Marquise "Hollywood" Brown on IR, and he will undergo surgery to repair his dislocated SC joint. After multiple imaging studies, it was determined that, although Hollywood felt better, his injury was not healing correctly. Without corrective… pic.twitter.com/xtRRMvmseq
Andy Reid said Hollywood Brown is “ahead of schedule” and attacking his rehab, but he wouldn’t commit to a certainty of seeing him this season. Called him “a relentless worker.”
DeAndre Hopkins has 11 regular season games to get up to get fully comfortable within the #chiefs offense and with Patrick Mahomes. By the time the postseason arrives, I'm told there is a real chance Hollywood Brown could return. Which would make KC's it's most complete at the…

If everyone is healthy after preseason you will point to this fact, if a key player is hurt you cant point to this fact? One other thing to consider is that Brown is injury prone. Everytime, every play he's on the football field increases the likelihood he might get hurt. Every time he is not on the field reduces the likelihood. Its such a simple and basic concept. [Reply]

Let Worthy learn. Then add a vet later in the season.
Hell, maybe this gives us an opportunity to extend him cheaper.
Not gonna lie. I had the same initial reaction when I read this.
Was just expecting the one cheap year of Hollywood and then 'he gone'. If Andy likes what he sees when we get him plugged into the offense later in the season, it may allow Veach to get a cheap short term extension done with him? [Reply]

Yeah, Andy has a long way to go to catch up to someone like Marty about being set in his ways. :-):-) [Reply]

I guess the problem is if he's back for the run-in and plays great someone will surely still offer him a boatload even with the injury history. Real bummer and a 180 from all the previous noise so especially disappointing [Reply]

I'll be honest. If he's back for the playoffs and shows out (or just helps our offense out in any way), then I'll be happy for him for whatever happens if we have another banner to hang.
If somebody gives him a stack of cash, good for him. If he doesn't get the offers he wants on the FA market and is able to come back for another year (or two) with us on a cheap short term extension? All the better.
He seems like a good dude so I'm rooting for him. Hope we're able to see him at some point THIS year. [Reply]
