Yep, the long & short of a 1 loss season. Just don't make it the last game. Last year that UCLA game took a lot out of them, they figured they would walk over Baylor. They didn't expect Baylor to play so physical with them.
Same thing this year, pressure D and play physical with them. But I'm not sure if that will do it this year. [Reply]

McCormack would have to act like a non-pussy and get those bigs in foul trouble, but he can't even do that against D2 bigs. I get so sick of seeing him take fade-away shots in the paint against 6'7" guys. [Reply]

The season-long front-runner rarely seems to win it all.
UK in 2011-2012 is about as close as we normally get. 2018 Nova too, but that year was more competitive at the top. It’s just hard for teams to stay so locked in game in and game out.
Oddly enough, it’s KU that looks like it has the soft-ish schedule and not Gonzaga for once. We don’t play a ranked team until the end of January. [Reply]

No guarantees, but I suspect KU ends up playing Alabama this week. [Reply]
As expected, Gonzaga rolls UCLA who is just an overrated team. Good, but not elite team. So funny we place 500% more stock in a single elimination tournament last year than their 10 regular season losses they had. [Reply]
I'm going to be in Orlando at the ESPN Events Invitational. It's only a 5,000 seat arena, so any seat should be a good seat even though we paid for lower bowl first come first serve seats.
Alabama is the only team that worries me from that group as they just chuck threes all game and we have been susceptible to losing to teams like that. Should be alot of fun though. Will be interesting to see how they look with Jalen Wilson back - and who loses their minutes. [Reply]

I don’t think 2018 Nova was a season-long frontrunner. I’m pretty sure Duke and a few others were at the top early on and even late in the year.
KU will likely play Alabama in a few days. [Reply]

Well...they also returned all their starters including a projected top of the lottery pick. That makes a lot of difference, college kids get better. [Reply]
