Hey Vlad… are you still in accounting? I’m a Portfolio Analyst/Manager for a bank. I review a lot of financial statements and by far the interim company prepared are so bad. I talked to a friend who knows the CFO for a huge conglomerate, and they said theirs are too. Is that your experience too? [Reply]

Indeed I am in still in accounting, although my CPA is now lapsed and I might have to re-take all the tests all over again to reactivate it.
I've been working with increasingly smaller companies, but my understanding from talking with buddies that are also accountants is that auditors are in high demand and short supply these days. Many companies are hiring auditing firms out of Taiwan and other non-English speaking companies that pay their people extremely low wages. It certainly does follow that the quality of financial reporting coming out of that is not good. I've also been told that in-house accountants are hard to come by. And so on into corporate itself - but as far as direct, personally-witnessed things in the industry today, I must admit I'm not the best authority. I hear bad things. [Reply]
#Titans coach Brian Callahan confirms that veteran WR DeAndre Hopkins is out “several weeks” with a knee injury. He adds that there was no surgery, and source says a return at four weeks is likely (but not guaranteed).

Meh. In almsot every case involving Hopkins being hurt, he's returned to the field earlier than projected. And the talking heads have been wrong about his ability to be great after those injuries every single time, the most recent being prior to the start of last season when he had some knee issue. "He's washed; can't run anymore, isn't a top-15 WR anymore . . ."
75 catches 1,000+ yds, and 7 TDs, multiple 100 yd games, multiple receptions over 40 yds, multiple 2+ TD games later, with Tannehill, Willis and Levis as his QBs.
Wouldn't put all that much stock in what the internet crowd has to say about Hopkins' abilities or projections on his health at this point. [Reply]
Sounds like an mcl probably. A few weeks no surgery. Could happen to anyone at any time really. But the path that was not signing Hopkins led us to a great place. [Reply]

As many of us tried to tell people.
Also, people can bitch about WR play last year, but we learned a lot of information about the guys we have and can now be choosier as we're gearing up for a 3-peat.
Wouldn't you rather see Skyy cut from the team instead of given meaningful snaps because it's his turn?
Do you like Xavier Worthy? Well, it's possible we don't go that direction in the draft if we're counting on saving cap dollars by assuming one of the young guys will do what needs to get done.
Did you like Toney bobbling shit in the air and letting other teams pick it off, leading directly to losses for the Chiefs? Well, now that we had last year, he's going to be placed at arms length, and might not even be on the team at all.
All of it is possible this year because we didn't sign Pipkins. [Reply]

I see it as a breeland speaks learning opportunity. We got the goat so it all worked out anyway. But now we have a few more boxes to check when scouting. [Reply]
