You're correct, Walton bought the team after Hackett was hired. It's one thing to have a bad coaching debut. It's another to not appear to understand how football works.

They would be justified to fire the dumb fuck, but it flies against logic if they run the Broncos like WM.

Don’t think Paton is out of the woods. His prized FA Randy Gregory and pet project Baron Browning did next to nothing against Seattle’s rookie tackles both playing their first game.

Chubb did well but aside from that Geno had a lot of time

What would be your take if Hackett had allowed Moobs "to cook" on that play and he failed?

What would the headlines be? Wilson coming to the Donks was strictly a PR move...right now...nobody is blaming him.

It took all of one game for the Hackett honeymoon to end...

Other than the decision at the end of the game that most high school coaches would be fired for…..

1. Played under center for 3 quarters, until he got to the 1 yard line.

2. Sat out Javonte for basically the entire 3rd quarter.

3. The Javonte fumble was coaching’s fault. We didn’t get the plays in all night. We broke the huddle with 8 seconds left all night long. Every delay of game was on the coaches.

4. Didn’t use any challenges (not sure if you can challenge offsides) but failed to be on the refs at all.

5. Cant stress enough that Russell was not getting the plays in. They had the snap down because it was: rush to the line, have Wilson yell at his WR to quickly shift (taking Russell’s attention off the D) and hurry and snap.

:-)
Yeah, they were getting the plays in late for the entire game and they should have been called for even more delay of games than they did.

No idea how the hell the coaches didn't adjust at some point to that. I've never seen anything so incompetent at this level.

Good God...how did that Mongo holding call get ignored? I thought he was going to tear the guys head off..

That suit only works when you convert a 4th and 5...

If we lost without the braindead coaching decisions, I think the discussion would be about the 2 goal line fumbles (which, of course, were also partly caused by braindead coaching decisions).

Hate to say we told you so, but….

1) Russack looked slow and less than elite.
2) Defense took a step (or two) back without Fangio.
3) Jeudy still can’t catch the ball.
4) Hackett is in over his head.
5) Broncos are not substantially better than last year.

6) KC not only didn’t fall apart without Hill, they might be better.

I said the two teams were statically almost identical last season...score ended up being 17-16.

As far as the fumbles...one of those were set up on a long 3rd down conversion where Mongo nearly beheaded a guy...even Buck mentioned it. So that was just football karma...

I believe one of those fumbles were on 4th down also...so it was inconsequential. It was a turnover on downs...he didn't break the goaline.

Seahawks failed on a 4th and inches inside the Donk 10...got zero points out of it. If you want to play the "what if" game...Hawks were driving and Metcalf lost a fumble.

It’s telling that the Donko head coach was more confident in his kicker than his QB.

It's far too early to determine most of these, but I'm inclined to agree with #4. Specifically, the timeouts when Seattle was kneeling reminded me of McDaniels.
