Pablo Hidalgo has already emphatically stated that neither Snoke or Kylo Ren were ever Sith.

He called them "Darthless".

It wouldn't bother me if they did, as there's enough pre-TFA to mine.

The Knights of Ren might be far more interesting in terms of storytelling.
