Let Russ Cook . . . . . .
Carroll did that for a while and it led to a couple of Russ' worst football stretches in the last few years (turnovers, etc.). He put the leash back on and the turnovers magically dropped again.
Hackett has already said they're gonna let Russ run the show and do HIS offense the way he wants . . . . . . . . I'm cool with that.
You do realize he has never received a single MVP vote.... even when he was at his peak? Of course the next guy was wearing a Mahomes jersey..it's a show for 14 yeard olds.
Let Russ Cook...this is what the Donks future roster looks like after that contract.

I guess mathematically that game eliminated them, but SEA was 5-9 going into that game with 2 games left. Are you really positioning this as they were a playoff bound team that had their hopes dashed by CHI?
Two bad teams.. game decided in the final minute.
SEA led the whole game and at the final minute mark in the 4th, CHI sores a TD and a 2-point conversion to win.
SEA K (Myers) missed a 39 yard FG earlier in the 4th... that didn't help.
But yeah, damn you Wilson... you guys were about to be 6-9 and playoff bound with 2 remaining --- you bastard, don't bring that shit to Denver.
Hell, they could have won that game and finished 8-9 and still not advance, but you do you. [Reply]

:-)
Congrats on selling the farm for a QB of bad 5-9 team? Not sure the point you're trying to make...
Like I said...Wilson just moved to an almost identical team in a more competitive division. This chart confirms it...Donks were playing a last place schedule too.
There is absolutely nothing about this trade that says Donks are suddenly an "AFCW contender" [Reply]

Of course he left out that the same guy picked KC to go to the SB. :-) [Reply]

I wasn't trying to make any point.
And, so I'm clear... your opinion is that Wilson is no better than any QB they've had since 2016. Is that accurate? [Reply]

These 2 don't seem to be falling for the Denver media hype (which is all it is, considering the Donks have shown NOTHING on the football field to warrant being a Super Bowl contender)
Now that Tyreek is on the “go fuck yourself and die” list, Florio isn’t all that bad.
At least his takes are real and what he actually thinks. He doesn’t just parrot what producers tell him to say in order to drum up ratings. [Reply]
Florio isn't so bad now that he's got Chris Simms to teach him a thing or two. His voice is still grating though, especially when he gets all high pitched. [Reply]
I think it all hinges on Hackett. IF he's the "savant" that some are trying to paint him to be, they could thrive. If he's your typical coordinator turned HC, they won't accomplish much.

No...the point is Donks roster is in the same meddling category as the Seahawks. Only difference is Wilson was ON the Seahawks...
If you sell the farm for a guy...he better be the type that elevates the team around him. Seeing his stats side by side with Bridgwater should sound some alarms...especially since Fant/Patrick arent playing.
Wilson had Metcalf/Lockett last year...and no Patrick/Fant this year. Those two were your main TD producers last year...
Surely you can see this is not ideal...
The injury excuse doesn't fly as Wilson was actually better last year than the last 8 games of the 2020 season. [Reply]

For me, it all comes down to the results.
Looking at what the Broncos gave up to get him, they better damn well make a Super Bowl in the next couple of years or they basically shot their shot for nothing and have nothing to use to rebound from it.
That's an impossibly high bar with so many good young QB's in the AFC.
If your goal is simply to improve on the recent past, then yeah, I think they have a good chance at that.
But to get a real return on investment, they need SO much more and that's where we part ways. [Reply]
