4 of our starters were round 3 draft picks:

Meinerz
Cushenberry
Jones
Simmons (not in the last 5 years, though)

1 is in a rotation and will see significant playing time:

Browning

The Rams haven't had a first round pick in 7 years. Fuck them picks.
Clowns like you continually compare your situation to the Rams and it's more hilarious every time.

Let's see....loaded roster with great coach who went to the SB with Jared friggin Goff and was already a perennial contender.....or 0 Pro Bowler roster that is ranked in the 11-15 range by most even with Wilson, and a rookie HC who wasn't even impressive as an OC. In the best division in football.

Yep. Totally comparable.

So starting on a team that wins 5-7 games/year makes them hits? Are all the Jets starters hits too?

IF that is the contract, that's actually not half bad. Still gives them some flexibility the first 3 years of the deal.

But since it's not front-loaded (like many thought), it basically ties him to Denver for 5 years instead of 3, to his age 38 season. After that, the dead money cap hits are pretty manageable.

So all in all, not a bad contract for Russ and Denver.

Of course, it won't matter. He's still an aging QB with declining athleticism and will only be the 3rd best QB in his own division.

So, yeah . . . . . . .

Meinerz graded 67.4
Cushenberry graded 64.2 and is number one at his position for giving up sacks.
Jones graded 57.8

I guess I meant GOOD players. My bad. How do you feel about the contract that career high 6 sacks Gregory got?

PFF grades mean less than nothing.

I don't really give a whole lot of thought to contract numbers, especially when a small percentage of the contract is guaranteed.

Jones, in about 1.5 seasons worth of snaps, has 15.5 sacks, 19 TFL and 28 QB hits.

Your little buddy Queso will jump up and scream Baron Browning.

Glasgow was a R3 pick by DET. You have the guys mentioned previously by Hef.

And, there's that guy you said I can't mention.

They'll miss out on the first 2 rounds in 2023, so be it. If Wilson proves to be a top 7 QB overall in 2022, then it's worth it.

Top 7?

All smack aside, that's a terribly, terribly high bar.

DJ Jones was an excellent DT for SF, I also expect him to do well in Denver, but he obviously hasn’t played a down for us yet.

I love this contract...team with trash depth just took it on the chin. That's $50 million less they have to work with...and no 1st/2nd rounder next season. Chubb is up for a payday...what do you do? You cant draft his replacement until the 3rd round. You cant go out a buy a top FA either...

The more they pay the Wilson...the more they are losing other current and potential players.

Chiefs are better off today than they were yesterday...

I'm happy Donktards are excited by Wilson costing twice as much as he did 12 hours ago....which was already insane. He hasnt even taken a snap for them...and wouldn't until they gave him a mammoth raise.

It's all about Russ...just like Seahawk fans told you.

It's cute they think have a SB roster...apart from Moobs, its far worse than last year. No Miller...and 60% of their TD production is gone.

This has potential trainwreck written all over it...

He was #5 in passer rating last year while playing injured, #7 in 2020, #5 in 2019, #3 in 2018.

What are you expecting?

So you're expecting him to supplant one of Brady, Rodgers, Mahomes, Allen, Herbert, Burrow, or Stafford to get into the top 7?

Well, when you consider the Top 7 last year were the ageless wonders (Brady & ARod), Matt Stafford, and the 26 and under club franchise cornerstones (Mahomes, Allen, Hebert, Burrow), I'd say that's a pretty high bar to clear.

I guess I could see an argument for Wilson over Stafford, but Stafford has a better O-Line and much better receiving options to throw to.
