The WRs on the other hand . . . i doubt whatever 'experience' they acquired in 2022 is going to help them play any better in these playoffs. If that were the case, they'd be playing better since Day 1 of 2023. Certainly by Week 14, and that just hasn't materialized.
I think it's reasonable to expect that Rashee Rice and Richie James could give you more in the playoffs than they have so far this year, since Rice is a rookie and James is a new player whose season was interrupted by injury early.
For Valdes-Scantling and Moore and Watson, no. Those guys are what they are.
Toney is a wildcard, but I think that's the guy's whole existence, anyway. [Reply]

We'll just have to wait and see. I would agree about Rice, or that at least he'll be who he has been. I have no confidence in any other WR to raise their level of play at this point. They've had nearly 6 months since the beginning of Pat's private WR camp, and now 14 weeks into the season? This is who they are. [Reply]

At this point it’s obvious the offense cannot function as an elite offense.
So play defense, run the ball with Pacheco and pick your spots.
Take away the WR options, remove the worse players off the field like Skyy.
Mahomes will have to game manage these guys and hope the other team falls apart. [Reply]

Elite? Let's just have 'better than average.' Hell, let's have 'better than bottom tier.' But that ship has sailed.
Yeah, we're down to hanging our hopes on that the defense just won't have a bad day, or half. Try to limit the shitty play by reducing certain player's snaps, simplify the offense to that the remaining WRs have less opportunity to eff things up, and hope Pat and Travis just go God mode for the remaining games and through the playoffs, just to cover up all the poor execution by everyone else (excluding Rice). Exactly. Still possible we win a SB but it’s going to take some luck, injuries to other teams and Mahomes Magic. [Reply]

My issue with Evans, as great as an improvement as that would be is that Kelce is aging out as we speak.
So we need a #1 WR ready to go soon that can play here for the next 5 years.
If Evans is a short-term bandaid then maybe they can do both but I don't see this front office paying Evans AND trading up for a WR in the same offseason. [Reply]

As bad as it's been.....they're still a good offense. Not elite or great by any means, but they move the ball.

Just stop turning the fucking thing over.
They're aren't good. They're about as average as it gets. And while the drops have been bad, historically bad, they're just a part of the total miasma of shite execution these guys have put on tape. And worse, they've been trending in the wrong direction since Week 6.
But yeah, 100% please stop turning the ball over. Could've won at least a couple more games if not for those. [Reply]
