Surely, JG could thrive in that "a once in a lifetime" situation too...
Yeah, but even JG's prior environments never resulted in a title.

That's essentially what it would have been in the end....
Yes. The 49ers gave up three #1 picks for an unproven Trey Lance. I don't see why Denver wouldn't give up that for a 9x Pro Bowl QB, who's still in his prime and who plans on playing for the next decade.

Jimmy G probably would've been.

I know you don't believe this, but it's true: Denver has a Super Bowl caliber roster right now. The only thing they were missing is an elite QB. Russell Wilson thought the same thing, which is why he chose to come to Denver over many other suitors.

Last place teams are never just one player away frome a SB.

Decent to good teams sure, occasionally, , but dungver isn't one of those. Plus you have an all new coaching staff and system. Let's say all the moves private paton made work out, you're still a minimum of 3 years away from being a serious contender.

Neither will Wilson's time in Denver...so in the end, it's a moot point.

You guys have really bought the media kool-aid that your team has an amazing roster that was only a Wilson away...

I see a team with little to no top tier talent...which is evident by both top 100 lists and void of any pro-bowl/all-pro players. They have a handful of above average players...

Donk fans do this every year...thinking a newly acquired player's past performance will somehow change once he is in the magic-land of Denver...and they always end up being what they always were...often times, worse.

Wilson is NOT is his prime...his prime years were predicated on elusiveness and buying time. That aspect is already showing signs of decline...he's not going to magically become faster because there is a horse on his helmet.

Russell Wilson threw more TD passes from 2017-2020 (4 years) than he did from 2012-2016 (5 years). Last year, despite playing three games with a torn tendon in his throwing hand, he threw for more TD's per game than he did in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2016.

He is definitely still in his prime, and will be for at least the next 5 years.

If Wilson is so awsome and elite then why were his teams so shitty. He had Metcalf and Lockett but his stats are ordinary. His wrs are worse than that on Denver. He can't carry a team with his arm and never has done anything without an elite defense.

You'll never convince him before he takes off in October as usual. Then he'll be back next spring to try and convince us that THIS year is the year.... rinse and repeat

"Ordinary" stats.

Russell Wilson has won one playoff game in the last 5 years and that lone win was over Josh McCown.

He’s been drastically underwhelming

Oof. :-) Didn't he lose to Goff with a surgically repaired thumb as well? Donald missed the 2nd half as well, iirc.
