Today, the Kansas City Chiefs complete the greatest five-year run in NFL history by winning the third Super Bowl in the Patrick Mahomes era, and the fourth in the franchise's glorious history.
The Chiefs could've had a 55-yard walkoff TD to Richie James in overtime because of a coverage bust, though this was entirely designed to Rice. Not knocking Mahomes at all.

It's Richie James look at him as he crosses to the bottom, no one goes with him.
Niiiiiiice.
Worked out well for us so I’m happy with the results but that could have been huge in the moment (not that the conversion by Rice wasn’t).
We had that defense in a blender late in the 4th and in OT. [Reply]
Now that the All 22 is out I can see why Rice got a bit heated with Mahomes. Looks like Patrick missed him twice at the end. Second one would have been an epic TD with less than 10 seconds to go.

Do you consider that a gimmick play? I don't. If I bitch about the play calling, it's some stupid double reverse from the 8 yard line on 3rd and 2 when you have the greatest QB ever. Not a well designed play like corn dog/Tom and Jerry. [Reply]

That last one with 10 seconds and the snap being rolled to him Mahomes likely felt he didn't have enough time to go over the middle to a guy not in the endzone, last thing you want is time to run out. [Reply]

No matter what the DB running with Rice would've done (had he passed off Rice to follow James) the play is a massive play.
Just caught them in a bad look and picked up the blitz, I guess. Ultimately those DBs were dead to rights and seemingly got lucky that it went for as 'little' as it did. [Reply]
I don’t know why smashing your tv has become a thing when your team loses. They’re not even waiting to see if there’s a flag on the play before they do it. Can’t imagine ever getting that mad at a game, especially when you’re an adult. [Reply]
WTF would you invite opposing fans over to watch the game?
I won't let anyone come over when I'm watching the Chiefs games, let alone a fucking niners fan during the Superbowl. [Reply]

Back when the Broncos were actually competitive, my FIL had a foam brick that his daughters gave him. You can throw it at the TV without damaging it. :-) [Reply]
