The mighty Bills from Buffalo will take the AFC this year.
For two decades I watched people say the Patriots window was closed, that their time was dwindling, that it was all over… seemingly every time those predictions happened, the Patriots went and won another Super Bowl.
A lot of doom talk simply because we lost to the Bengals in the playoffs. Let us not forget that the Bills watched their brother DIE on the field just a few weeks prior. Their heart was simply not in it. If it had been, the Bills would have captured the AFC last year.
The Bills have won 2 of their last 3 in Arrowhead and they’re ready to make it 3 of the last 4.

Last night should have put that belief to bed. Baltimore does what Baltimore always does and that is bully teams. Buffalo is another example of a team that can’t match that style of play.
Hell, and that defense last year was seriously legit... I know it was only week 1, but the Chiefs moved the ball on them far easier than the AFCCG.
Allen and the Bills looked closer to Jackson and the Ravens last night... feasting on a few broken plays with Allen's ability to extend plays. [Reply]

If we get the 1 seed, we’re going to the Super Bowl. The only teams in contention have significantly bigger issues:
Bills - just got destroyed by their first good opponent
Jets - that offense…yuck. Sure, they looked good against New England, but the Titans gave them all they could handle too.
Steelers - I don’t believe in Fields
Ravens - 2 games back and we have the tiebreaker already
Texans - pretty unimpressive so far.
Basically only the top tier QBs actually stand a chance against Spags, so the Allens/Burrows could win a play off game even though the Chiefs would be favored. [Reply]

Outside of the AFCN, no other team can go toe to toe with Baltimore except KC. Look at their record vs the NFC. KC’s ability to bully Baltimore is greatly overlooked. They force the Ravens to play the game KC wants vs the other way around. [Reply]

I think this is correct.
Luckily, the Bengals dug themselves another early hole. Their defense looks bad. They’re pretty much out of the 1 seed at this point.
I also can’t unsee what the Ravens did to the Bills. There’s a blueprint that others can probably repeat.
I just don’t see the Chiefs losing if they get the 1 seed. Especially, with a 3-peat in sight. [Reply]

That was a relief to see. Going into this season we were supposed to have a weakened Bills defense, with Josh Allen having to play hero ball to get wins. Glad to see that may actually be the case. [Reply]

I am curious to see what happens with the Buffalo & Houston game next Sunday. Houston is winning ugly (similar to KC) and Houston also has a blowout loss similar to Buffalo’s loss to Baltimore. [Reply]

It was perfect. Everyone knew what we were watching with their 3-0 start and we all know comparing common team opponents and so forth is pretty useless... but, seeing it all come together in such a thorough ass kicking was still very satisfying. [Reply]

It’ll be one to watch for sure.
The big difference between Houston and KC is that KC has earned the right to not be questioned then they win ugly. The Chiefs also haven’t played a really bad QB yet. Each one is well above average.
Houston beat two bad QBs and one that is playing really really bad.
If Buffalo blows out Houston, we can probably right them off as contenders this year entirely.
That said, it’s better if Houston wins. I expect them to drop a game or two to bad teams along the way. Buffalo will destroy the bad ones. [Reply]

I think you're right. Houston has less experience at competing in the heat of the playoff chase/playoffs. Better to get the Bills further back. [Reply]

It is the case. Mediocre weapons, soft defense, Allen running like an idiot playing hero ball turning it over [Reply]
