Browns could trade Watson away and the new team would only pay $46M a year for two years and while 2025 would be hella dead money for the Browns, 2026 they gain over $19M in Savings.
Deshaun Watson is not worth more than $10M per year right now. Generally you want above 60/100 in QBR. Here’s what he has done in Cleveland:
2022: 40/100 QBR in 6 games
2023: 44/100 QBR in 6 games
2024: 24/100 QBR in 4 games
Average of less than 40/100 QBR across 16 games. That’s pretty rough. [Reply]

Right now there are fans asking themselves that question about Skyy Moore.
Teams don't give up young talent that can contribute quickly unless they're character problems. And most of the time they're just lousy.
Yeah I feel like that’s just repeating the Toney and Ritchie James mistake. It does feel tempting though to think there are guys like Mingo or Michael Wilson who just need a competent environment.
But right now I want a proven piece versus an experiment. Rice and worthy seem like guys we can build around [Reply]

Yeah I’m not sure if he’s even worth that. Think I read somewhere that as bad bad bad as browns QBs have been over the past 20 years Deshaun’s been one of the worst. And that’s with weapons and a reasonably competent offensive coach. Nevermind the baggage, purely based on his play he’s a disaster [Reply]
I know we’ve kicked the tires on this before but DHop is intriguing too. Our opening script yesterday seemed like the stuff you want to dial up for him. I think you can script some simple shit for him so there’s not as much of a learning curve. I doubt Tennessee would deal him to us but if you’re them, why not get some value out of a guy they aren’t gonna keep next year [Reply]
If we are getting someone it can’t be some reclamation project or failed cast off. That would just be a waste and a headache as we spend ten games trying to get him up to speed only to have it ultimately fail anyways. Needs to be someone competent in the Hopkins or Cooper realm that can contribute right away. [Reply]
While I certainly want us to move fast on a guy, I wouldn’t be surprised if we roll with what we have this week and lean on JuJu and Gray more. If it is obvious that our offense took such a massive hit w/o Rice that we can’t absorb it, then we have no choice.
