1st year was a little rocky. 2nd year was much better. 3rd is off to a great start, and they're signed on for at least 2 more years, . . . and the big thing is 4&5 will be exclusively Travel Specials.
They've already ditched the celebrity chat/lap. Next year, they ditch the tent and audience and everything except on-location hijinks, though presumably there will still be new car driving/rating segments interspersed. [Reply]
Well, since the NFL season is over, it is now race car season.
Have made great progress on the car. Since the below pics i have heat wrapped and fully installed the hot side and turbo.
Still need to bend power steering lines out of the way, get the meth kit mounted, mount the radiator , fans, and trans coolers, (going to do a 1 push 1 pull fan setup because of space~ that will definitely be different) cut the bumper up and reinstall, and of course, dyno the damn thing.

Nope, gravity feed only.
Got everything buttoned up for the most part tonight, will put some heat cycles in the valve springs tommorrow night.. still need to get the odds and ends and the meth kit etc but Thursday or Friday car should be boosting its ass off in this cold weather lol [Reply]

Second episode in, and I don't think they're still worried about people taking offense anymore. [Reply]
So we busted ass last night, started at 4pm, finally turned the car off after its maiden voyage at 2am.
We started with the turbo manifolds on and turbo, but nothing else. We had to wire everything, run all the new gauges, run all the new coolant lines, evac system, rewire the fan setup, but my favorite thing we did was the Meth installation.
I am going to run 100% meth in this application, so we wanted to come in a little ways out from the throttle body.
We ended up figuring out a super slick setup. I removed my cruise control unit (cant keep cruise with a 4l80 trans in an fbody, so it hasnt worked for a year or more anyway) and mounting the pump in that location, with a very short travel to the dual nozzle setup this was ideal. We also modified the turbo kits fabbed intercooler bracket and where able to mount the reservoir on the back of it, very similar to the stock washer fluid location.
MOST everything seems to be in good shape.
MIAs question about the scavenge pump was a little prophetic. While a lot of people have ran this setup as gravity drain, it looks like under braking that it backs up the oil drain and some comes back out the exhaust, not a big issue, and I have several different ideas to remedy of it. Going to check out the catch can setup and see if we can get some more evac out of it, also going to look into seeing if we can raise the drain point to make more of a slope. And last resort, will be a scavenge pump setup.
Also have a strong vibration under medium throttle (didnt go WOT last night) that I think may have to do with the pinion angle since the front sits even lower with all the added weight, raising the tailshaft housing on the trans, forcing my pinion angle out of whack.
That being said, we didnt hit boost but MAN this thing sings. We have some slight kinks to work out but I think this is gonna be funnnn
Anybody on here ever ordered a new Roush vehicle before? I'm seriously considering ordering a Roush supercharged F150. I have a couple questions about the process. [Reply]
Since the superbowl is ****in bullshit, and its going to be 65 today it is.. guess what that means?
RACE CAR DAYYYYYYYYYY
This turbo build is close to being in the books, drove the car on full boost yesterday and let me tell you.. hooolyyeeeee shitballs!
This thing is a ****in monster! Just using wastegate pressure, the car made 17 pounds of boost at 128% injector duty. We have a little perfect quarter mile spot out here in 'mexico' thats been marked off that we have used for years, and even yesterday in 50 degree weather, with the road pores weeping water, sand and everything else, and blowing off the tires for 300 feet the car trapped what we estimate to be 140+mph in the quarter from a dead launch. That's a 9 second car gentleman.
Now that being said, we did cut the spring a little so that we could dial the boost in. (cant go backwards off of the wastegate spring but my MBC can always get us more if needed) Ended up making about 13 pounds at 90% injector duty cycle, which leaves us plenty of headroom for improvement.
Just a guesstimate its a low 10s, high 9s car at 13 pounds of boost before we start touching any thing. I dont think thats bad for an overweight, iron block/turbo kit/4l80e/9inch/full interior fat ass f body.
Still need to button up minor things like figuring out an air filter that will actually fit, raising the car up on the front about an inch (going to use BMR spring mount inserts) since with the iron block, the turbo kit now up front hanging off the motor, combined with the sam strano springs and this thing is slammed too far. And of course, fine tune on the dyno.
Who else is ready for race car season?! :-) [Reply]

I ordered a P 51 years ago. My process was:
Chose the options! Color! and accessories I wanted.
Went through Roush and 1 of their SoCal (then local to me) dealers and they found the car in Yexas. We worked the deal and I flew to Texas to get it.
I had to order some of the accessories direct from Roush. Things like trunk mounted tool kit, wheel center caps, etc.
Great car- much quicker than my previous ZO6 or Shelby but you had to work more. I sent back the computer toRoush for an additional tune and they forgot to mention the extra tune took off the factory rev limiter...
Hope my experience helps you. [Reply]
