Nzoner's Game Room>50 Beers to Try Before You Die
NewChief 06:18 AM 04-24-2010
Thought the beer snobs here might like this article (and probably critique the hell out of it).

(CBS) You've heard of "100 Bottles of Beer on the Wall"?

How about 50 to try before you die?!
Spoiler!

Tried the BCS Special #4... as I was hoping, there's a lot of maple syrup.

Grabbed a few of those, plus a Kentucky Fog, Caramella, and a few originals.

Seems to be different variations of regular BCBS this year based on a difference in labels, some denoted with "HH" and some without. Maybe indicating different barrels vs blends??

Heading out to pick mine up this morning

EDIT: some “BT” labels popping up

That's my best guess. Package date, barrel info and abv

Mine are HH

Early returns on a slightly under room temp regular is much more vanilla, marshmallow than oak, tobacco I normally associate with it. Maybe a tad thinner than past years as well.

Had this yesterday and two days ago and two different. Fantastic taste and high ABV. Only drank one each time before meal and then switched to something lighter.

Yeti Great Divide.

One of my longtime favorite stouts. They used to make a chocolate and espresso variety, which were both fantastic. They still do some variants, like a smores flavor, but they aren't as good, IMO. Still drink the original from time to time.

To no surprise, genious marketing from Bud. Bros are clearing these off the shelves.

I've been enjoying both Boulevard's Whiskey Barrel Stout and New Holland's Dragon's Milk Whiskey Barrel Stout.

Both are quite tasty.

Dragon's Milk has some tasty variants, too... their Reserve kicks it up a notch and they have various flavors that they come out with every year.

My latest favorite from Bottle Logic... thick and chewy (even for them!), but "only" 9%. Pastry stout all the way, tons of chocolate sweetness.
