Once that tag pegged his floor at $23 million, his leverage in a LTC improved a lot. And when we traded Thuney it went up still further.
It just blows my damn mind that we didn't get this done last offseason if we decided we were going to keep him and Creed. And nothing they saw in 2024 should've changed that calculus at all.

Tranquill didn't adequately replace Gay last season, IMO. He damn sure can't replace Bolton. Lots of athletic 'backers in the draft this season - hopefully we can manage to relieve Tranquill in 2026 with one of 'em. [Reply]
