Hate to say, in another thread about Peaky Blinders, Blacklist thread, both of which are a great series, but I get tired after a few views. Thus I needed a break.
So I surfed Netflix and found "Awakenings". One of the better Robin Williams obscure films. Not a fan of Robert De Niro, but a good flick from 1992.
I watched it a long time ago. Glad I found it again. I like historical films and a feel good or bad story.
Recommended.
What other hidden gems are out there...
We all have our preferences. This is a generic, not niche classic ala Rocky Horror Picture Show nor Monty Pythons stuff nor Casablanca. [Reply]
Way back when dinosaurs roamed the earth, I bought a pair of roller blades, mostly because of this movie called Airborn. It was on youtube so I watched it not that long ago. Holy hell that is a shit movie that hasn't aged well at all. But the race scene is still entertaining anyway.

I liked that movie as a kid too lol. There was another movie I remember seeing a lot on HBO/Cinemax back in the early 90s that took me forever to find. It's called Big Man on Campus. About a hunchback discovered living in a bell tower on UCLA campus. It's an average comedy but I liked it when I was a kid. I still don't think it's ever had a home video release of any kind. Or if it did, it's rare. Pretty sure you can stream it. [Reply]

I've made my 8 year old son watch all the movies I loved as a kid. We started with the classics like Goonies, Honey I Shrunk the Kids, Big, Karate Kid, etc. Worked through most the of 80's and 90's.
Anyhow, after I made him watch Rad I remembered this movie and searched far and wide for a way to stream it. Nothing! Couldn't find it anywhere on any service, even to buy/rent. So....I had him watch 3-4 scenes from Youtube like this one just to give him the idea. If you know where to find it, let me know! [Reply]
I'm not sure how forgotten it is, but Cannonball Run was a childhood favorite and I'll still watch it from time to time. It had one of the best casts I've ever seen in a movie. [Reply]
I want to see Big Fish again. I haven't seen it in years, but I remember really enjoying it. I was in the theater telling myself, "You're not going to cry. You're not going to cry." [Reply]

Yeah, that flick will get to most people who have lost their father. [Reply]
