It’s not often that I don’t have the words, but this is one of those times. Today I received a message from Mrs Seclark that she asked me to share with all of you. It’s not an easy message to even type.
Sec passed away this morning after a battle with cancer and ALS.
We communicated semi regularly and it was always a pleasure. Scott was one of the best humans, who lived to love his family and friends. Never once did he complain about his challenges, he was always so positive…and usually more concerned with what was going on with me. I can’t do him justice in this message, but in some of our last texts, when I mentioned his illness, he said the following quote that defines the man for me:
“I haven’t tasted food in 3 months. But I Am Blessed! I have family and friends who love me and stay with me. I have elders and a pastor who visit me. My grandchildren are my pride and joy and they come and see me. That’s all I need in life”
He was a great, great guy and I’ll miss him on a personal level. A random poster on a message board became someone I consider one of my best pals in life. I hope I can become as good of a man as I considered him to be.
It is my hope that CP can honor him, and I will find an appropriate cause or fund that his family supports and ask those who considered him a friend, Like I did, to honor him that way.
RIP to a Chiefsplanet original and a hell of a guy. I can't say that I ever had any direct conversations with him here, but I'll remember him as one of the CP greats.
FU cancer, haven't you taken enough lives? [Reply]
Sec reached out to me, a random stranger who is more interested in making snarky remarks than having serious discussion, with his personal phone number asking to reach out any time when he learned of my cancer diagnosis. His condition was far beyond where mine was. Says all you need to say about him.
It is amazing the strength and selflessness that many of the CP'ers have displayed here in their final days of life.
He was always a generous, considerate poster and he apologized to me once when he accidentally thumbed down a post due to his illness. He thought of me during his time of serious illness. What an incredible soul.
RIP and God Speed to the loss of another great poster, seclark, whom I admired very much. [Reply]
