In line with other random threads already opened in this glorious night, let me take the time to applaud the referees for calling an outstanding game. They let both teams play and in the end, Los Jefes came out victorious. Clit has called some reasonable games the last few times the Chiefs played and I think his crew was spot on for the majority of the calls, tonight.:-) [Reply]
Not one member of the media wanted to talk to Clete Blakeman after the game...
Referee Clete Blakeman talked to plenty of players and coaches during the AFC Championship. After the game, Blakeman didn't talk to a pool reporter about the critical fourth-down spot. Because no reporter covering the game asked to talk to him. https://t.co/1Aj6lPInCl

The media doesn't report stories - they create them.
I think a lot of what people are reacting to with the inch is his helmet crossing the plane. But nobody can tell where the ball is. I feel like that surge was enough to get him inches. But I can't imagine there's any video evidence to prove that. It was somewhat the luck of the spot because if they were given the first down and we challenged, we probably wouldn't have won the challenge. It's one of those deals where the refs probably made the right call and we were probably lucky with where they spotted it [Reply]
The best view of initial progress was from right side of the offense & he was clearly stopped initially.
The second effort was best seen from the left side view. Allen's body was turned sideways & his shoulder hit tge line. The ball was centerline of his body as he hugged it with both hands. Ball never made it to the yard line. The left side ref had better view of second effort & made the correct call.
I'll eat some crow. I honestly thought that this officiating crew was going to throw 2-3 early flags and put the Chiefs in a hole. Turned out it was a well officiated game and they let the players play. Of course haters gonna hate and sore-assed losers are gonna say but, but, but, but all in all I just hope the SB is officiated this well. [Reply]

Ended up helping us as they missed the 2.
that catch probably hurt as it meant chiefs couldn't run the clock down and allowed Bills to score before half time [Reply]

The Chiefs got lucky with a spot, and the Bills got lucky recovering 4 of their own fumbles. One of these is not like the other. [Reply]

Chiefs ball.
And one thing we know for sure is that in a QB sneak the QB does everything he can to protect the ball. There is no way that Allen was sticking that ball forward. 100% certainty that Allen was hugging that ball against his torso where he thought it would be safest.
Why do the haters think the official running in from the far side of the field had a better idea of where to spot the ball? Why do people think that official didn't get any say in where to spot the ball? If people think the officials conferred on the spot, why do they think that official was overruled? [Reply]

Hope they do as they will definitively lose. [Reply]

Chiefs ball.
On the previous 4th and 1 play from midfield, Allen extended the ball out and fumbled the ball. Even though he recovered, it was very nearly a costly turnover. I have a feeling that affected the next attempt 4 plays later, and he decided not to risk fumbling it again. [Reply]
So Friday good friend of mine that I worked with from 11-12 hit me up and asked if I was headed to kc. I said nah man I wish. He said what if you had free tickets? I’m thinking this guy doesn’t have ticket he’s a Steelers fan but really just a mild NFL fan. Turns out his wife works for one of the refs for the afccg. He’s the superintendent at a small school district. Guy couldn’t sell his tickets locally so wanted to give them away. Asked his secretary if she knew anyone and I ended up in 111 row 32 for free.
Needless to say I’ve got no issues with refs for awhile! [Reply]
