A bit douchy of the Bucs to say he couldn't interview for a promotion and try to put that in his contract. Would piss me.off.if someone tried to pull that with me . [Reply]

He didn’t sign a deal because he received a better offer?

I don’t know if that’s a good thing or bad thing.
Boys club or not if I was an owner I’d think it was unprofessional.
I dunno. Seems like this would have never happened with Cowher or Parcells someone like that.
Don't get me wrong, I think it's the right thing to do. These guys can be the greatest thing this year and then even if nothing changes from the coaching standpoint, nobody wants them the next year, they should definitely not buy into the boys club because odds are they're not going to be in it.
But I think it's definitely a sea change in the league. [Reply]
Holy fucking shit. $13 million (!!!) for Ben Johnson and Liam Coen :-)
Liam Coen called NFL plays for one (1) season and was offered the highest coordinator contract in NFL history, per Albert Breer, and "Ben Johnson money" to be the next head coach of the Jags, per Dianna Russini.
Coaches who don't call offensive plays (like Todd Bowles) are going…

Jaguars botched this situation about as bad as can be and still pulled one of the better hires. A testament to how fucking stupid some franchises are. [Reply]

There's something more to Baalke. It ain't just bad drafts. He must be one of the biggest assholes in the league. And that's saying a lot.
And Dorsey is out there, proving your point. [Reply]
“In Breer’s telling of it, Coen’s offer from Tampa Bay stipulated that he withdraw from Jacksonville’s candidacy before that second round of interviews; Coen asked for more money in exchange for dropping out of the Jaguars process, the Glazers demurred and asked for an answer on their offer by Monday; Coen asked for an extension until Tuesday, then Wednesday.” [Reply]

Probably thinks this is his best shot to be a HC, if Baker regresses no one is calling him next year. [Reply]

Lol, people still think Baker's going to regress? He was supposed to regress this past season, but instead had a top-5 season. Threw more TDs than any QB in the NFL over the last two seasons. A top-10 passer rating over the last two seasons.

People are stupid.
Life comes at you fast, Slowik went from a hot OC to being fired in 1 year. [Reply]
