We're past the 53 man cut-down, both our rosters are for the most part set in stone. It's time to talk real football.
Ravens lost a few players on defense this offseason, but acquired Henry. LJ has been talking big about how much weight he's lost this offseason to be faster than ever, I suppose. Don't know much about their draft, but the Ravens traditionally draft well so I'll assume the same this year.
We're likely down Hollywood Brown, but no other major injuries.

After a dude wins 2 MVP's is he really overrated anymore? [Reply]
Jackson/Henry will be fun to watch this season. I just hope they don't have success against our defense. I still can't believe they chose to pass so much in the playoff game when that was the Chiefs strength defensively and not Lamar's strength. The game was always too close to abandon the run.
Week 1 is too early to get a feel for anything. The Henry signing might pay dividends for the Ravens or it might be nothing special. He's old in RB years.
We didn't see the starters enough in the preseason to see how the Chiefs defense will look without Sneed, and whether the run defense has improved. Not worried about the Ravens passing game except for Andrews. He's a beast when healthy.
Assuming Hollywood Brown doesn't play, week 1 won't tell us everything about the Chiefs offense either. [Reply]
Im predicting a shoot out. I think both of these defenses will still be getting their legs under them. It'll be a few weeks before our defense starts to really click. [Reply]
MY BAL friend says that although their front needs pass-rushers stat, he believes their secondary is actually better now. Also thinks DH will cure a lot of their rushing woes from last season, in spite of the condition of their OL. I'm not sure I believe that part, as DH needs a good OL to get going. HE struggles when he has to avoid defenders in the backfield, iirc.
M guess is that the BAL offense will be more effective since we won't have Sneed to lock down their WR1, but I also don't believe that Lamar will be able to do a lot with that.
I think we'll see a mini-shootout, as both defenses are going to be a little off their game Week 1. Should be a fun watch. [Reply]

MVP is a QB award these days and Lamar was the QB of what looked to be the best team in the league. Hill got hurt late in the season and his numbers cooled down. Purdy and CMC play for the same team so they split votes.
It’s really that simple.
Last year definitely would have been the year to give it to a non-QB but the fact that they didn’t is some grand conspiracy. [Reply]

We held Ol Henery to 69 yards in 2020 AFC Championship game 3.6ypc. We will do the same against the Ravens. [Reply]
