The website FlightRadar24.com shows Delta Flight DL194 was about two hours into its eight-hour flight when it turned around over Virginia and headed back to Atlanta.

A user on X, formerly known as Twitter, who appears to devote his page to flight material shared audio recorded from the Airbus A350 that was broadcast on LiveATC.com.

On the recording, a pilot tells air traffic control, "This is a biohazard issue."

"We’ve had a passenger who’s had diarrhea all the way through the airplane, so they want us to come back to Atlanta," the pilot added.

A Delta spokesperson confirmed with Fox News Digital there was no emergency landing because of the biohazard situation, but the flight did return to its original airport.

"Delta flight 194 from Atlanta to Barcelona returned to Atlanta following an onboard medical issue," the spokesperson said. "Our teams worked as quickly and safely as possible to thoroughly clean the airplane and get our customers to their final destination. We sincerely apologize to our customers for the delay and inconvenience to their travel plans."

There were 336 passengers onboard the flight that landed without further incident the following day, 8 hours and 6 minutes behind schedule.

Well it can happen to anyone.
My wife and I were in a restaurant once and I started feeling strange. My guts were rumbling, so I made a quick trip to the shitter, and no sooner had I gotten there, I started puking blood. Lots of blood. I was afraid to go back to our table and cause a scene, so I figured I’d just go out to the car and wait for her to come out.

I got out in the parking lot and took a couple steps and passed out, hitting my head on the fucking pavement. Rolled around a little, then crawled over to our car and climbed into the passenger seat. After a few minutes, my wife came out looking for me, saw my head bleeding and my face ashen, and took me to the hospital.

As she was in one room checking me in, I was in the room with patients waiting to be admitted, sitting next to a man and his wife who was getting ready to have her baby. They were both on their phones talking to people, I guess telling them they were having their baby.

Then my guts started rumbling again. But I didn’t think I was gonna puke. And I was so fuckin dizzy from loss of blood, I think. All I could do was sit there and shit my pants full of blood. And it was loud, long and watery.

That pregnant couple next to me both got really quiet for a couple seconds, then he helped her up and took her to the other room where my wife was, then she came running out. I told her I shit myself, and needed to be taken to a car wash.

Bleeding ulcer. Can’t remember how many units of blood. A week in the hospital.

But the worst part was shitting myself next to the pregnant woman.

He may not be an elephant, but I'll bet seclark has some badass photos of his incident.

there were kids in school that had shit running down their leg as they desperately sprinted to a bathroom and they were never able to live it down the entire rest of their school career. Now imagine being the guy that forces an international flight to pull a u turn because of your explosive shits.

I bet that was a long and embarrasing turnaround and landing for that poor passenger.

I used to chuckle at stuff like this, but the older I get, the more I view it sympathetically.

Another shitty incident on an airplane…

EasyJet flight canceled due to ‘defecation’ incident

An EasyJet flight was canceled and its passengers made to disembark after someone onboard the aircraft apparently defecated on the airplane bathroom floor.

The flight on Sunday evening from the Spanish island of Tenerife to London Gatwick had already been delayed by several hours.

Aaran Gedhu, a passenger on board, told CNN Travel the flight had already run into trouble pre-departure when the scheduled plane was switched out for a smaller aircraft, meaning some customers were turned away at boarding.

Those who made it on board, two hours after the scheduled departure, then had to wait on the ground for more than an hour while bags were offloaded due to the aircraft being overweight.

As the delay extended, the atmosphere on the packed flight was characterized by “suspense and anger,” Gedhu said.

“EasyJet planes, as they are, just aren’t very comfortable – it’s just a basic seat with okayish legroom room. So everyone was just a bit tense,” he said.

“Then, the pilot finally gave the all clear, and then he said that it will be about 20 minutes until departure,” recalled Gedhu.

“And that’s when the incident happened with the defecation.”

Gedhu said he was seated in the middle of the aircraft, but saw “two passengers” visit the front airplane bathroom. Then, word spread that someone had defecated on the bathroom floor. An unpleasant smell followed.

No one was happy about this situation, said Gedhu, but he says most believed the incident was an “accident.”

“Everyone was being polite to each other. There was no fighting amongst the passengers,” he said.

“It was just a very uncomfortable experience. Obviously, the plane was in an unsanitary state. So they had to get external cleaners out from the airport to clean it. So that’s when the stairs reconnected, and the cleaners came on to deep clean the flooring.”

According to Gedhu, passengers remained in their seats during the cleaning process. Afterward, the captain of the aircraft told the plane’s occupants they would have to disembark in an announcement captured on video by another passenger, Kitty Streek, who shared the video on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“It was very frustrating,” Streek told CNN Travel. “We obviously can’t prove whether the person simply had an accident or if they had done this out of anger for the delayed flight but it was hard not to be angry either way as nobody wants to be stranded in another country.”

It was another 30 minutes before passengers deplaned, according to Gedhu. He said he was put up in a hotel overnight – around 45 minutes drive from the airport – before boarding a specially scheduled “rescue” flight the following day.

EasyJet confirmed the initial delays on flight EZY8054 on October 15 occurred due to “safety reasons.”

“Some bags were offloaded to be carried on the next available flight for safety reasons, due to the aircraft being overweight,” it said in a statement.

“The flight was subsequently delayed overnight due to the aircraft requiring additional cleaning,” the statement continues. “We provided hotel accommodation for all customers however as there was limited nearby hotel availability in the area we also advised any customers who booked their own that they will be reimbursed.

“The safety and wellbeing of our customers and crew is easyJet’s highest priority and while this was outside of our control we would like to apologise to customers for the inconvenience caused.”

Sunday’s flight cancellation follows several recent disruptive incidents involving bodily fluids on board airplanes.

In September, a Delta Air Lines flight from Atlanta to Barcelona was forced to turn around after a passenger had diarrhea. Earlier that month, Air Canada issued an apology after two passengers who were told to sit in seats that hadn’t been cleaned properly after being covered in vomit during an earlier flight.

CNN Travel has also reported on an incident on board an Air France flight from Paris to Toronto in which a passenger discovered potentially toxic blood and feces left over from an incident from a previous flight under his seat.

Last month, just days after this story erupted, I was faced with a similar situation. We had booked a cruise around Iceland, we were flying from O'Hare to Heathrow, and I was violently ill in the four days before the flight. Fever and uncontrollable poops. OTC drugs had zero effect on it.

We had already paid for the flight and the cruise, ~$10,000, and didn't want to miss out. I was able to go longer between episodes, but still tenuous. 2 days before leaving I walked into the bedroom heading for the bathroom. My wife had left her suitcase on the floor in the process of packing. I hadn't turned on the lights, did not see the suitcase, tripped over it, fell and pooped my pants - though I was trying to clench it shut. I hurried to the toilet, turned and sprayed the toilet and wall behind it before getting sat down. Cleaned it up afterwards. Next day, cleaned it up again.

Luckily (or maybe not really) my wife, being on numerous cancer drugs, had some opiate containing anti-diarrhea drugs, that put the brakes on my situation. One of those pills gave me about 12 hours of safety.

The day of the flight I made my first purchase of adult diapers, put one on backwards (because the problem is in the back, not the front), took a pill and got on the plane. I made the 2 flights safely without putting the diaper to the test. When we got to Heathrow and before we got our ground transportation, I made a visit to the restrooms. As I entered the stall, I heard the guy in the next stall talking on his telephone. I proceeded with a gurgrly blast, uncorking a lot of brown water at a high rate of speed. His conversation ended abruptly.

I was still under the weather for a couple of days, but then recovered and enjoyed the cruise. Saw some northern lights.

Anyway, I sympathize with the person in the story. It can happen to anyone, and it doesn't always let you know ahead of time.
