As a result of the charge and other violations of the Athlete Code of Conduct Policy, the organization believes it is best to allow Jones time to focus on his pending legal matters.
UFC feels strongly that its athletes must uphold certain standards both in and out of the Octagon. While there is disappointment in the recent charges, the organization remains supportive of Jones as he works through the legal process.
With this decision, UFC has determined that No. 1 contender Anthony Johnson will now fight No. 3 contender Daniel Cormier for the UFC light heavyweight championship at UFC 187 on May 23 in Las Vegas.
Until he actually loses a fight (the DQ does not count), I do believe that JBJ is the best LHW fighter at least until he finally loses to someone. DC vs Rumble will be entertaining though, and Jones needs to learn to not be an immature assclown. [Reply]
Now we know what the comments by Dana and Jones were about. They weren't trying to weasel out of anything, they just wanted to pre-emptively answer the angry insane people who wanted the UFC to CUT Jones instead of suspending him. [Reply]

He's the best LHW by far. He'll go down as the best LHW ever if he keeps dominating everyone. [Reply]

"There have been cases between Jon Jones and me and [UFC CEO] Lorenzo [Fertitta], definitely," White said. "Definitely."
He declined to elaborate. He also declined to describe Jones' mood or reaction to the news. "I just don't want to talk about him personally," White said. "He's being stripped of the title. He's being put on indefinite suspension and any question how he is should be directed toward him and his attorney."
Apparently right after news broke a couple days ago that Jones might be in trouble, DC immediately started blowing up Dana and Lorenzo's phones, letting them know he was ready and asking for the shot if they needed him. [Reply]

Of course he was. It's the only way he has a shot at being champ. [Reply]
