Agree to an extent but Russ is not elite. He’s 2nd tier at best.

Rodgers, Mahomes, Brady and Allen are the elite QB’s in this league

Depends on how one defines “good enough” vs “elite”.
If the relative performance gap between Wilson and Mayfield are anywhere close to similar, then the Broncos mortgaged their future for a few years.

It will huge disappointment if Mayfield and Wilson are anywhere close to similar in 2022, they certainly haven't been before now. Mayfield's best season ever (2020) is almost as good as Wilson's injury shortened 2021, but other than that there is no comparison.
