Patrick Mahomes
Josh Allen
Aaron Rodgers
Tom Brady

Can’t be an elite QB and finish behind Jimmy G and Jared Goff in your own division

I still don’t get the bizarre signing of Randy Gregory. That guy has 16.5 career sacks. Not 16.5 in 2021. 16.5 in his career.

And he played across from 2 league leaders in sacks in Demarcus Lawrence and Micah Parsons.

Oh and he turns 30 in a few months. 5 year deal for a 30 year old with 16.5 career sacks.

$16 million to your cap every year after this one plus an elite mega contract to Russ in 2023 is uhhh…not smart

If only the Chiefs would have dawdled about until the 4th quarter before they had their comebacks against the Texans and Titans. Shoot. We could be tied with Russell Wilson on a cherry-on-top measure of career greatness even though he's played 6 more seasons than Mahomes (treating Mahomes' career as starting in 2018)

Isn't Derek Carr ridiculously high on total 4th quarter comebacks since 2014 or some shit?

You might want to try again.

They knew they had no top picks for two seasons...and Miller bolted. They are going to have to pay Chubb too..

Handed $28 million guaranteed for 16.5 career sacks, Gregory remains without a firm return timeframe. The issue wasn't broached amid Broncos general manager George Paton's pre-draft press conference and went unclarified by head coach Nathaniel Hackett, who skirted past whether Gregory will be ready by training camp.

"Right now we’re just kind of working through everything," Hackett said Monday.

He was on IR because of a calf....now is missing all off-season with his arm in a sling. He had rotator cuff surgery. Dude has always been injured..and guess what...he's injured again.

16.5 sacks in six seasons...

Neat, so if we extend it to include the 3rd quarter, Wilson has the same as Mahomes (unless Wilson had some comebacks start in the 3rd as well). I'd take Wilson = Mahomes in nearly anything.

Yes, Carr has 24 4th quarter comebacks, the same as Wilson. Mahomes has 9. The chart in the previous post is playoff 4th quarter comebacks, of which Carr has zero.

Gregory couldn't stop testing positive for marijuana early in his career. That is a non-issue now because the new CBA doesn't suspend players for positive marijuana tests.

With guys like TJ Watt earning $30M per year, getting Gregory for $14M per could be a bargain.:

Elite pass rushers in the NFL get pressure on 14% or more of their pass rush snaps. 16 guys did that in 2021. Min 275 pass rush snaps. Micah Parsons is in a class by himself. data from SISdatahub pic.twitter.com/mibKwfb64Y

He’s played 1475 snaps in his career, so he’s gotten those 16.5 sacks in about the equivalent of 1.5 seasons. Of course, this calls into question his availability, but that should improve somewhat now that players aren’t suspended for weed.

Dee Ford was pretty productive too on a per snap basis, but couldn't stay healthy.

That's without the off the field concerns.

That's pretty neat. But Mahomes doesn't need to make a lot of 4th quarter comebacks. He erases double digit leads in minutes.

Now how about something a little more meaningful?

Playoff win %:
Wilson: .563
Mahomes: .727

Last 5 years:
Wilson: .250
Mahomes: .727

It is neat, thanks!

It's also neat that our new QB has a higher career playoff winning percentage than Rodgers, who is at .545.
