EVERYTHING I'm hearing out of Seattle is how excited they are to have ripped Denver off in that deal and how the organization felt Russ is one more decline (like he did last year) from being irrelevant as a starter. His limitations will not make losing that athleticism go well at all. Fat, declining, the moon ball loosing its effectiveness. Uh oh... [Reply]

Tell me that's not the crispest, most laserlike thing you've ever seen. That throw alone should be enough to get him into Canton. Just watching it feels like eating a bowl of nachos. [Reply]

There was a reason he was available...and Seattle didnt want to pay him.
They can blame a rift between he and Carrol...but like with Rodgers...talent trumps everything in the end.
You dont just let the face of your franchise walk because you are cheap....QB are extremely hard to find. They didnt want to have his contract albatross around their neck. They and Seahawk fans recognize he had already started to decline.
They moved him at the right time...the question is if Wilson's agent lets him go into the season without an extension. If he doesn't play up to the lofty expectations...it could cost him $50-100 million in guarantees. Donks could then take the "wait and see" approach. I wouldn't do it if I were him...he's 33-34. Broncos have no leverage...if he wants to be extended before playing, they'll have to pay him.
There is no fountain of youth in athletics...unless you are taking HGH. [Reply]

Think about what you just posted...Seahawks were willing to move him without a proven replacement in the wings. They wanted him and his contract demands gone...at least the Packers had already drafted and were developing a young QB. [Reply]
