Yes, that Brady only won because the Chiefs had no healthy safeties and Brady was able to keep up with the more talented Mahomes as a first year starter.

Brady is the GOAT.
But Brady had plenty of help in those 2 games. It’s a team sport. He had a loaded roster in Tampa, while Mahomes had a messed up OL from bad luck with injuries. The Chiefs defense wasn’t exactly great in 2020. Mahomes himself was playing with turf toe that needed surgery right after the game.
And the 2018 game? Chiefs had one of the worst defenses in the NFL. Bill Belichick is one of the best defensive coaches ever. Despite this, Brady threw 2 interceptions and would have a game-ending 3rd interception if Dee Ford didn’t line up offsides. If we had the current Overtime rule, Mahomes would get a chance to touch the football in Overtime. He scored 24 points in the 4th quarter on Belichick’s defense. There’s reason to believe he would have matched the Patriots TD in Overtime. And see how it goes after that. [Reply]
