I just feel like everyone is going to spend all week talking about Mahomes' ankle or Burrow being a Demigod or Chase against this young secondary or Lou Anarumo being a psychopath...and then in the end it's just going to Samaje Perine bludgeoning Bolton and Gay to death.

Most non-Bengals fans won't care about this next bit so you can just check out right here. For those interested, read on.
That whole thing with Rapien and Pike reporting yesterday was a big nothingburger. So Burrow flexed his hand and looked at it. Duh, he had surgery on it a few months ago and he's been throwing a football every day for the last couple weeks. He's only sat out 1 practice in the entire training camp. Every practice he throws the equivalent of an NFL game, several times a week. People took what they said and blew it way out of proportion.
The glove was used between plays to create a littel moisture on his hand (sweat) because it was a very dry, windy day and he was back out there today in a joint practice with the Colts, throwing and acting just fine. He's done the thing with the glove before (between plays), but no one wants to hear that.
All that bullshit (see: Stephania Bell) about the cumulative effect as games wear on is Captain Obvious shit and it's all speculative as there's no precedence with a QB. He had surgery on a hand ligament, of course there's going to be concern as the throws build up and he has to brace himself every time he goes to the ground. What negates that is the suregeon that fixed his hand has cleared him to play QB in the NFL. The doctors/training staff on the Bengals have cleared him to play QB in the NFL. The coaching staff has cleared him to practice every day but one during training camp.
Every single person involved in his rehab and his every day activity will be monitoring to see if/how much discomfort he has on a daily basis and adjust his work accordingly.
And lastly (finally, right?) Burrow has already said he's at the point in his career where he listens to his body more than he used to, and doesn't try and push through tweaks and strains like he did when he was younger. He knows, more than anyone, he's missed big parts of 2 of his 4 seasons so he needs to be careful not to screw his wrist up.
There's always a chance he could screw his wrist up...or any part of his body for that matter, at any point in time. Just like any other NFL player.
I see the disclaimers you threw in just in case I'm right :-) [Reply]
We shall see with old Joe. Big year for him and the pressure is on to play great and stay healthy. Team will be changing next year. Can't pay everyone. [Reply]

Carly Simon wrote a song about you.
That last line (the entire post, actually) was for people like Bell and the media, not you. You just throw shit on the wall to see what sticks and then ignore the posts that show how you are wrong.

Don't worry. I see you.
You've never been right about anything though. [Reply]

Trust the pasta.
The last time he was wrong was probably 10 years ago [Reply]
I know we like to create bulletin board material but none of the words we've used against Cincinnati have ever come from Burrow himself. He himself has been class act when asked about the Chiefs or comparisons to Patrick. He went on Kelce's podcast in Ohio. He throws a few good natured competitive jabs at us during the right times. Largely, my dislike of him has waned quite a bit. He's just in a town that has been without a lot of Super Bowl success for a large amount of years, just like us prior to 2019. This can all change with a few bad incidents but I've had decent interactions with Cinci fans at Arrowhead. [Reply]

Try no SB success. Bengals have 0 SB trophies. [Reply]
Here’s something interesting: Bengals QB Joe Burrow has been wearing a glove on and off today. Wearing it after team reps but took it off before he started throwing in individual drills. pic.twitter.com/pSW8FwrqBZ

Clips like this are a little annoying. All we really can see is that Burrow threw a pass to Higgins; we can't see the route or the timing or anything of value, really. I can guess that it was a timing route, and it seems like it was a well-timed and placed pass, but I don't know that for certain. Just would be nice to get a wider view, so we could see the entire play. [Reply]
