Nzoner's Game Room>Andy Reid called me, and he asked CP to fix the offense.
Direckshun 07:39 AM Yesterday
I think we can all agree the offense has not been up to par this season.

At this point, there's only so much we can do about it. Our best WR got injured and is missing the season, our best RB is out until December, our LT situation is messy and our stud TE is looking his age.

So, is this who we are now? Is 30 points a game a distant memory?

What can be done?

(Andy Reid is lurking in this thread, so make sure you're on your best behavior.)

I hate that Kingsley didn't look competent enough to earn Patrick's trust a couple weeks ago but again, that's a position where I really do think benching is necessary and helps all involved.

Hell they did it with Fisher in 2015 and then he never looked back once he played a couple weeks later at LT.

LT trust seems to impact Mahomes' mechanics more than anything. So there's no time to let the kinks work out in live games if it leads to subpar QB play.

Everyone agrees Kingsley has the higher upside and greater physical traits. But Wanya showed late vs. Cincy + Sunday night that he has made the technical strides we want Kingsley to make. And guess what, his ass got benched late last year.

Kingsley needs to show he can consistently stop opening the gate, clean up his punch, and stop leaning after the punch. Show that in practice consistently and then they will trust him not to get bent over.

This shouldn't be surprising. Kingsley was the presumptive starter throughout the off season despite being raw as fuck. A large part of that is Wanya just not being very good. He's backup swing tackle material. A guy you throw out in a pinch to salvage the game. Not a long term answer.

Wanya didn't improve anything. He's still slow and gets beat on the arc too much.

If they don't think Kingsley is ready, that's one thing. Don't start him and jerk him around like this then.

Why don't you dipshits trust the HOF HC who coached OL for thirteen fucking years? JFC.

I’m watching the All 22 right now and I wish these Nagy rioters would watch this. It’s not Nagy. It’s the fucking LT and rookie RB.

First drive of the game was quick passes for a reason. The play before the pick was the first play of that drive where Wanya got to actually pass protect. Mahomes checked it down quickly bc Wanya gets his ass beat on the edge and Mahomes gets shoved to the ground.

The playcalling is a result of the absolutely shit at LT. My God

I mean there weren't exactly Trey Hendrickson level tests available to display his readiness prior to last week

And now that's where Wanya gets tested again from here

If Wanya was really that bad Sunday night, good for him, that's a lucky MFer because it sure didn't seem that way on the TV copy

They ran the ball and got it out quick.

Pretty sure sign your LT isn't very good.

Yeah, and Morris is starting because they failed to adjust to Kingsley not having the technique to go one on one with Hendrickson. It's still fucking bananas they allowed that to transpire and actually benched him as a result.

OK, let's pretend that is the reason for why they're calling it this way

Well if that's the case, it isn't getting better any time soon. Doesn't matter which plays. Kingsley has a long ways to go.

If they can't pass protect to throw even 12-15 yard passes then they need to go sign a veteran LT now.

This is not even dink and dunk. There is no dunk.

Seth Kyser did his write up on the Chiefs offense in Atlanta and his conclusions in a nutshell-

Too many errors by Mahomes, Kelce and Rice.

Mahomes mechanics were off and he had ball placement issues 2 times in a row on 3rd down to Rice where they had the play but he threw behind Rice instead of leading him.

Kelce had a terrible drop on 3rd down as well.

Rice ran the wrong route on another 3rd down.

Also mentioned the lack of creativity on run plays down by the goal line and Reid being too conservative in Atlanta territory.

No mention of LT at all, and he said the plays were designed plenty well and they had guys open to and just didn't make the plays mainly because Mahomes was off.

I don't think you can blame Nagy for Mahomes playing like he did. He had opportunities he just didn't cash in.

:-)
