Update: Yes, the Bills were overhyped.

That's a team that will have some rough weeks when Hurts is just off, but they're explosive when he's right and should be able to put up a lot of points.
The funny thing is they could start 9-0 because their schedule is just that bad.. hell, the top 20 teams in the league could start 7-2 with that schedule.

It's just shocking that they're still this bad.
Imma blame their insistence on the 3-4 front.

I mean I know that's probably the wrong answer, but man I hate the damn 3-4.

They can’t generate a pass rush without bringing extra guys.

The Ravens are just one of those teams that run their schemes, matchups be damned. It’s why we’ve beaten them so many times and we saw it again with Hill running free in the 4th quarter.

They're a problem in the NFC and with that schedule, I don't see them winning less than 13.
2nd, but your point stands.

$1.6 million cap hit but he's extension eligible this offseason. I can't see him getting at the top of the market but $25 million seems eminently doable and may actually be a good decision for Philly.

Lamar is going to ask for $40+ and I'd rather have Hurts.

From what I've seen, it wasn't any of their starting DBs.

Humphrey got dinged again IIRC.

Ohh ok, that would somewhat explain it, but even then, the guys they had out there should still be better than what they ended up with late in the season last year.

Exactly.

The last year we ran the 3-4 and had Jones at DE, that's doable. When the Texans had Watt. If you have a 3-tech that can demand doubles and still get pressure, you're essentially running a 4-4-4 at that point; it's almost like playing with 12 on the field.

But if not, you're just putting yourself in a spot where you've gotta treat that OLB like a DE and bring him every down. And very few of those guys really have the length/power to be every down type rushers. They need to be rationed more.

But the Ravens can't do that because their 3 down lineman are just as fungible as hell.

I'm not a fan of the running QB stuff that's happening league wide now, but it seems it's here to stay.

You've been to enough games, but you go and see it live and man.....those dudes are just all big and fast. Even average guys in the league are just freak athletes. I'm not into paying my QB those prices and having him be put in harms way that many times.

"If you're built like Josh Allen you won't break down"

Nah.

Cam Newton broke down and he's built like a fucking transformer. If that guy can't take the beating, no one is going to. You're one bad play from absolutely being gutted.

Winning throwing the football from the pocket is just the way I wanna go with this.

Is Patrick Queen....bad?

I think he might be bad.

We got Willie Gay 35 spots later in the same draft and he's at worst Queen's equal (when he's not...y'know).

I think Queen's a guy they really were counting on to be the anchor of that defense long-term and it's just not happened for them. Malik Harrison isn't who I thought he'd be either and Oweh has been a non-entity through 2 games so far.

Just not getting what they thought they'd get from all those draft picks. 14 picks in the first 3 rounds over the last 3 years, 5 of them 1st rounders, 8 of them spent on defensive players and I'm not convinced they've gotten more out of all that capital than we have gotten from ours. In fact, I'm damn near positive they haven't.

Ravens: Hamilton, Ojabo, Jones, Oweh, Stephens, Queen, Madubuike, Harrison

Chiefs: McDuffie, Karlaftis, Cook, Chenal, Bolton, Gay

Would I trade our 6 guys from those 3 rounds for their eight? No, I don't think I would. Bolton, Gay, McDuffie and Karlaftis are giving us more that all 8 of those guys combined, IMO.

That's where I've been most impressed by Hurts, though. He's not running to run these days. He's largely running to create throwing lanes or running when it's wide open.

He's playing that sort of Steve Young style of game where he's using his mobility more to set up the rest of the offense rather than just going Lamar out there and trying to find yards with his legs.

Yeah, they've seemed to have fallen into that "draft good players but none of them are real anchors" spot. None of those guys really scare you.

Queen isn't good. Gay is much better iMO>

Yeah, he's been good. Picking spots and such.

It's more the Josh Allen designed runs that I just cringe at.
